Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomIt is very much at the premium price end, so a couple of things are of note: shower door arrangement made it all too easy to get water everywhere, and the breakfast wasn't that inspiring for this price point (plenty of choice, it was just a bit bland and grey tasting). Nothing that would put me off staying again but as I say, this is an expensive hotel so I would expect everything to reflect that.
Stylish hotel in a great location, a few yards from Marble Arch tube station and just next to Oxford Street. Room and bed very good and an extensive bar area serving till late. All in all a great stay and a great base for Central London.

RomaniaThe room was a little small for the three of us (third person had a bed at the foot of the king bed) and there could have been more variety at the breakfast buffet. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.
The room had a nespresso machine, an iron and we enjoyed that it was really quiet at night. For every day you chose not to get your room cleaned you received a 10 pound voucher.

AustraliaOne staff member at breakfast was very keen for us to give him a good review, he gave us a business card and asked us to review him, even though he only spoke to us briefly.
The location was excellent. The theme and branding of the hotel was lovely. Chocolates in the room and free chilled water was a beautiful touch. Beds were comfy and clean. So much choice in the buffet breakfast.

IrelandOn day of checkout we were able to leave our bags at hotel which was great as we had a late flight. We headed shopping for the day. On return we found a quiet seated space in a public area of hotel and sat down to arrange our shopping into our suitcases. Twice a female security guard approached us advising that they were watching us on the cameras. This was a family trip with my 3 daughters and I -hardly a threatening group! When we were leaving-approximately 30 minutes later, she stood at top of stairs and said ‘finally’. She was ignorant, disrespectful and in consideration that I had spent over €1000 in the hotel over the corse of the weekend it has left a very bad taste in my mouth and was embarrassing for my daughters. Up to this interaction we would have easily recommended the hotel.
