The lack of disabled parking. Parking in general. No spaces at all on arrival had to wait at the barrier.

Good breakfast. It's a must have as an inclusive .

We had a long wait for food on the Wednesday evening. I know it was because of the numbers turning up for the conference, and we should have booked, but I didn't know what time we would be able to set off and what time we would arrive as it was a nearly 3 hour drive. It would have nice to have had a couple of biscuits with the tea/coffee in the room 😋

We stopped overnight as part of a conference the following day. The rooms were lovely, comfy beds, plenty of room, spacious shower. The breakfast was lovely, a good selection of foods. Staff were nice and helpful. We went to have a swim at 7.30am and the lady on the pool reception was friendly and very helpful, explaining everything that we needed to know. A great way to start the day!

The food in the restaurant was sub par for the cost. Although it may have just been a bad night

The well-being facilities were fantastic. Bed was extremely comfortable. The Gin Bar was a relaxing with a great atmosphere.

The following didn’t affect our enjoyment and comfort - just observations Bath water wasn’t particularly hot Couple of pillows were really hard Reported stiffness of bathroom door and shower door to receptionist - had to really push hard on bathroom door until it slammed shut

    Good facilities, polite staff

One of the best hotels I've been to in England

The hot tub was on only for 2 minutes with a 7 minute break following after. And that kept repeating. It wasn't that hot either. I didn't think it would bother me at first, but once I was there and just wanted to enjoy myself for a bit longer, it was really annoying to only get 2 minutes out of it. There was also a moment where I was registering my interest in the spa treatments where a younger staff member came and started chatting with the person dealing with me. I wouldn't have minded, but the person straight up started chatting, making inside jokes, and completely ignoring that I was right there and just wanted to get an appointment. It felt very uncomfortable and rather rude. Lastly, the room had no ceiling lights. It was illuminated with small bedside lamps and a table lamp. There was also a seemingly broken floor lamp I didn't want to touch. So, unfortunately, without any daylight, the room was really dim.

Absolutely adored the breakfast options and the spa treatment that I got - a 50-minute body massage. The restaurant served delicious food, which was on the pricy side, but worth it. Most staff were superb. The room was clean, roomy, and had gorgeous big windows. The room had air conditioning, and the covers were just the right temperature for both me and my boyfriend, who prefer different warmth levels at night.

The fire alarm went off early hours of the morning, there’s was poor communication after this, it was a false alarm through the night which was very unsettling at the time. There was a private party happening which was a little noisy too. The stay was lovely but this incident detracted from a good nights sleep so the next day plans were affected.

The hotel was very nice with great facilities.

Was around a 20 minute walk to town which wasn’t too bad however with it being located in the “city centre” I thought it would have been closer….. also you can’t book the pool it’s first come first served - we went down at 8.30 am Sunday morning and it was full they asked if we would like to be put on a waiting list however with it being a one night stay we checked out at 11 so there was little point in doing that….. so was quite disappointing as I booked the hotel because of the pool facilities.

The room and surrounding areas of the hotel were very clean and tidy, complementary water/tea/coffee/hot chocolate were a bonus :) lovely sized bath and shower. Huge TV and decent view out the window.

The only thing I didn’t like was the price of breakfast.

It was very convenient for the railway station. I was stranded during storm Isha, when my “last train to Edinburgh” was unable to go further than Newcastle. The proximity to the station was important.

There should be a booking system for the pool rather than a first come, first serve/ waiting list. Not ideal for those leaving the hotel. We could have been on the waiting list as early as 5, but it wouldn't work as we had a table booked at a restaurant and therefore wouldn't be available when they rang the room. We ended up waiting until way after 8 despite being back in the hotel by half 6

Breakfast was lovely and the room was clean

Train runs under the hotel heard it through the night Materess hard Old pillow that went completely flat after laying on them there was no plumpness Duvet to heavy No sauna in the spa Was not made aware on arrival to pre book the spa just got told hotel guests can use it to go down for it then to be full to capacity and have to wait 4 hours before we could get in to then only get 1 hour to enjoy it Think style of rooms is very basic for price of the room and beds not comfy enough for £130 for one night

One staff member walked into the room without knocking and didn’t apologise. O The room had only been cleaned maybe an hour before we were able to check in, we were told the room was ready however a member of the team who check the rooms for the standards of cleanliness assumed nobody was in and just walked straight in with no apology.

It was located perfectly for where we needed to be. The rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable! The pool area was an added bonus as not many of the hotels in the city centre have them! The staff were helpful.
