Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom- the Brasserie Blanc restaurant's dinner experience was poor. The kitchen had forgotten our order and then after a really long wait after starters (close to an hour), my specific dish, the grilled hake fish, was terrible - tasteless fish, super watery white wine sauce, irrelevant vegetables just dumped in ... not at all worth the wait and the price they charged for the dish. It completely spoilt our fine dining mood and experience we were looking forward to. - the cot provides no linen or mattress with the cot, you are supposed to bring along with yourself for your baby. Also, this policy is not visible anywhere while booking. - for breakfast, nothing to wow you, only basic English breakfast items like grilled tomatoes, bacon strips, scrambled eggs, sausages, etc. If you'd like any other egg dishes like Benedict, you have to order from the a la carte menu at extra charge. - not a negative but some spa facilities or an indoor pool too would have been amazing.
+ Fantastic location, super close to the beach and main pier, just 2 mins walk from the furnicular ride + Spacious room and very clean. Sea view was fabulous. + Provided cot and on request, an extra duvet as cot had no mattress + Nice breakfast restaurant ambience + Gorgeous outdoor pool overlooking the beach and the water temperature was a perfect 31°C (the outside weather was quite chilly (~16°C) + Onsite parking available

United KingdomThe service in the restaurant (Brasserie Blanc) was not of the expected standard. We were not offered drinks during Sunday lunch just had a jug of water on the table. Kept being told the waiter would be over in a minute. Showers in the outdoor pool changing rooms were only running cold water, both male and female. Other than that, a lovely place to stay.
Friendly reception staff. Lovely bathroom with toiletries and nice towels. Hotel is in a great location overlooking the sea with panoramic views. Beautifully warm outdoor pool.

United KingdomThe fact I paid £650 for 2 nights and breakfast wasn’t included was a bit of a disappointment but other than that the hotel was beautiful.
It was very clean and the room was massive.

United KingdomThe pool was far too hot; there were people jumping in with their clothes on and kids were throwing food in the pool. The original room we got was nothing like the rooms advertised on Booking.com but eventually they founded us something better.
Cliff top and away from other hotels.

United KingdomBed was not very comfortable although massive!
The room was spacious, and the mini fridge was a bonus. The bathroom was massive, plus great views over the sea. Clean. Lift right outside room. Breakfast was good with reasonable gluten-free options. The hotel was a short walk from the breach front.

United KingdomThe description of the rooms, booked a deluxe king room with an extra large double. When we arrive we were told they call their double rooms king rooms but the only have a double bed. They did move us for no charge but I have never been to a hotel where a king room is a double room.

United KingdomHotel couldn’t check us in until approx 18:30, we got 20% back on the room, but this really messed up our plans meaning due to our booked reservations we didn’t get into our room until gone midnight due to having non-changeable things booked. However we were pre warned by a few days, but we would have never booked if we knew check in was o late as the 20% was no good to us around our plans.
Stayed here for a birthday night out in Bournemouth. Good location, cheap taxis to the main night life area. Free parking in the hotel, just make sure you register your car. Rooms were good for what we needed it for. Cheap and cheerful.

United KingdomWe had an issue between Booking.com and the hotel where Booking (proven by a screenshot I took) had said breakfast was included in the price but the hotel said it did not. It was solved relatively quickly by the hotel granting complimentary breakfast which we are hugely grateful they did. It was embarrassing for us to have to argue our case for ten minutes in public view but the manager on that day did sort it out. Thank you.
Wonderful location with fantastic views out to see and along the coast.

United KingdomCreaky floorboards in the room but very hard to avoid this given the age of the hotel. The walk to the rooms, we were given two options we choose the route across the car park which was a little odd.
The hotel is located right on the front and a close walk to the the Pier. Staff were great, very welcoming. The room had recently been refurbished to a high standard and what is most important to me, the bed was super comfy.
