  “A grand gothic style Victorian hotel set just on the outskirts of the city centre, just a 7/10 min walk away. Refreshing not to stay in a bland brand hotel. Parts have recently been refurbished. We stayed in an older section of the hotel which was completely comfortable and clean. It was interesting to see how our tastes in hotel decor have changed over the years! We were welcomed warmly with a Bonio dog treat at reception. The charming manager helped us throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent, a good selection on a fresh buffet with delicious local Kent apple juice. All hot items cooked to order. We stayed in a large family room with our spaniel who was able to eat with us at the bar. Great price, great service & breakfast all with a comfortable Britishness. We will be returning in the near future.”
