  • The Black Boy Inn Review score: 8.9

“The building itself is super charming, old and quaint and well preserved. The restaurant is large (actually many smaller rooms spread out around the building, quite quirky and cool) and the food was great. Staff was very helpful and friendly, and found a safe place for us to store our bikes.”

  • “The lodge is lovely, it had everything we needed for a cosy stay. It is set in a lovely peaceful location, close to the Welsh Highland Railway station of Waunfawr and a brew pub. Karen, the owner, is such a nice person to deal with. We would definitely stay here again.”

  • Plas Dinas Country House Review score: 9.3

“The location was good slightly out of town. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very attentive. We ate at the Gunroom restaurant one night which was very special indeed. The food was amazing and the atmosphere lovely. Xavier and his team are exceptional and it was definitely a treat and great value for the quality. Such a nice experience at a lovely country house steeped in history.”
