Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsAirco was not working properly the first 2 nights, and then it felt like "North Pole-mode" was turned on... it's sad that we didn't had a chance to open the window to get some fresh air.
Friendly staff and great location.

GermanyThere was no way to open the window, not even on tilt, which is a pity when you need some fresh air, and the room has some stifling air. At least the ability to put the window on tilt should be allowed. The air condition did not allow heating. One evening, I had to take a hot shower to get back to a comfy temperature. Only one power socket at the bed - this means when you want to charge multiple devices nearby your bed, you have a problem.
The room is not that big - an IBIS BUDGET hotel is focused on a simplified stay. The shower was very clean, one large white well illuminated plastic shell and a well-closing door worked well. The toilet is behind a western-movie-style door and spacious enough. The hotel is about 5 walking minutes from a nearby Metro station (#13) and thus you are well connected to the city. To get to Gare du Nord, when leaving by train, you only have to change once (at Montparnasse subway station) - a good location. The hotel was calm, no noise from e.g. neighbor rooms either (i.e. well isolated rooms) - very good. The window blinds close completely which means you can sleep in dark very well.

NetherlandsThe rooms were on the small side but enough for our needs. The hotel in general was very clean and the breakfast offered a very decent range. The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood with a Carrefour (groceries), great bakeries, restaurants and take-outs, all within a 5 - 10-minute walk. The hotel also has a handy screen at the entrance for you to order food. We only used it once but the pizzas were yummy. But of course, the main bonus is that the hotel is only 20 minutes from the centre of Paris and its many many attractions. Would stay again.

BrazilThe towels were quite small, and the toilet wasn’t cleaned everyday. The shower door doesn’t complete block the water from pooling a bit on the outside.
It’s close to the subway, there are places to eat around under reasonable prices, and even though my room was close to a train track, the window isolates really well the sound. The staff speaks English and is friendly.

ItalyAccess to the big room on the ground floor should be guaranteed all day since the hotel misses a hall o networking room and people might need to have some conversation or networking necessities. Bathrooms should be better vented and doors more isolating since there is no physical separation between the WC and the beds, only a half door to cover the person from the eyes of a passing roommate.
The place is quiet, clean and, despite minimal, it has all the necessary for a short time single person staying. Not super suggested for couples or groups since the bathroom has no isolation from the bed and there is poor space for social activities (literally, not a single table to sit and chat while waiting for whatever, unless over breakfast).

HungaryThe beds are not too comfortable (were soft for us) but that's ok for couple of nights. We have two reservations and the window couldn't be opened in one of the rooms, we couldn't do the fresh air. Maybe it has some kind of security reason..
Rooms are clean, staff was kind and helpful, location was good, restaurants, supermarket bus and metro station are close to the hotel. Breakfast is enough and delicious.

Czech RepublicFor two people it was quite small, also the main inconvenience was in the window. You can’t open or close it by yourself
The room was quite new, nice new modern furniture, interesting minimalistic design. All processes were arranged perfectly, from check in to check out. Simple but tasty and sufficient breakfast, welcoming and very helpful employees.

United KingdomThere was one working plug! There was another one but it was in an incredibly inconvenient place (see photo) and couldn't be used. Some staff were friendly, some not so friendly or helpful. The egg station at breakfast is insane. You either fight with people over which one is your egg, or the boiling water is so extreme it knocks your egg off the holder and it goes "missing". Just serve hardboiled eggs. Less stressful.
Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. The shower was quite good, lots of hot water. It was quiet at night.
