It also gave us the opportunity to experience being part of the friendly local Coonawarra community, and had so much character compared to a hotel room. We particularly loved the warm fire at night which made the cottage toasty warm, and the fresh bread each morning. Finally, you couldn't ask for better hosts than Maria and Peter who were so friendly and were regularly checking that we had everything we needed and topping up the firewood and food supplies.”
