Bluff Hill is set on the well-known area known locally as "The Hill" in Napier city, Rainbow Gate Cottage with is private driveway and parking (very rare commodity on "The Hill") is away from the bustle of the Napier centre but is still only a 10 minute stroll away (we are on a hill so walking will be either up or down hill) to so much that Napier has to offer. ** Please note: The driveway is quite steep and narrow. And the walk to and from the cottage is either up or down hill. No matter what the season you'll be so comfortable at the cottage, whether it be a night by the cozy log fire watching a movie or a hot summers evening out on the covered deck, chilled wine in hand playing pétanque with friends. I've tried to make the cottage as comfortable as I would want when I go away to a holiday home, I hope you'll find it as relaxing as I do there and enjoy hearing the beautiful Tui songs from the birds who live in the trees at the back of the cottage. I knew as soon as I saw the cottage it had a special feeling and I hope you feel it too. Rainbow Gate is owned by and welcomes everyone from the LGBTQIA+family.

I've lived in Hawkes Bay for nearly 22 years having moved to New Zealand from the UK. The food, wine and tourism over the last few years has made Hawkes Bay develop into one of the most desired locations in New Zealand to both holiday and live, I can't see myself moving from here. There's nothing better than relaxing with a glass of local wine, taking in the sunshine and letting the day pass you by. As a member of the rainbow community its my desire to make everyone, without exception, feel welcome and totally at home at the cottage. If there is anything at all that I can do to make your stay more enjoyable, comfortable or special you need only to ask.

Leave the car at the cottage and take the short 10 minute stroll (the cottage is on a hill so walking will be either up or down hill) either turning left out of the cottage into Napier centre & take in the Art Deco setting, swim & relax in the hot pools at Ocean Spa or turning right to Ahuriri with the swimming beach, children's playground, cafes, bars and restaurants, The Globe boutique movie theatre or watch the sunset with fish and chips before strolling back to the cottage. Need an ice cream, coffee, fish & chips or a new hair doo? The friendly local dairy is on the corner a 30 second walk away, the other corner is a great fish and chip shop and a hairdresser is opposite the dairy. I could be so bold as to say it's the perfect location for a holiday cottage, but I could be a little biased! ** Please note: The driveway is quite steep and narrow.
