Dominicus is the first beach in the Caribbean to receive Blue Flag certification and is popular thanks to its calm, shallow turquoise waters. It is also a good place to dive as it has a quiet coral reef full of marine life right on its shore. The picturesque fishing village of Bayahibe is an attraction in and of itself. The village retains its Dominican flavor, from its local restaurants and bars to its craft stalls on the street and the fishermen who bring the catch of the day every day. Dominicus is one of the safest areas in the Dominican Republic. Everything is within walking distance. It offers tourists: supermarkets, restaurants, ice cream parlor, laundry, bank, pharmacy, gym, excursion agencies, car and motorcycle rental, and much more. About 5 meters from the Residencial exit there is a public bus stop. Buses travel to Bayahibe pueblo and the city of La Romana. (The third most important city on the island). The beach is about a 15-minute walk away.
