was perfect ! But Double perfect: rooms but even shared kitchen w big comm. fridge / hall and bathrooms ! Imagine: all clean, all electric items in fully working conditions.. in India !!! Kitchen equipment: free to be used by guests, toaster, pots, plates , water boiler, etc. (Guests are asked to clean it after using which was done by most) , water filter.. 2 extra wash basins... chai prepare equipment.. Simple breakfast 8..10am w toast and butter + jam plus 1 banana for each guest etc. (Please dont tell: once I took two..) After more then 25 years yearly roaming around in India during my holidays even being in lower budged level this was best accomodation I ever had ! Laundry ? No problem at all: washing machine & next to it laundry dryer (extra charged R 200 and handled by staff, done separate washing / drying laundry of each customer separate, same day ready.. but available and charge acceptable. next guest: fresh white bed sheets.. (!) Not opposite...! 3rd floor: but imagine : lift which works 24 hours, during the week I stayed in: not a single power off , water hot and cold all time.. Please dont tell / do not recommend to too many friends: Otherwise City Central Hostel will be fully booked next time I like to stay in.. Smoking: not allowed within the rooms, but hard smokers may go half floor below.. How to find it: everybody in Kolkata knows the M.G. Road but also the College Street. Where both cross: jump out of bus: its less then 200 meters from City Central Hostel, just ask any shop owner: Hostel is at M.G. Road (Mahatma Gandhi Road, busses run from main Howrah railway station to main Sealdah railway station and back cont. and pass hostel which is on the left road side when u come from Howrah / river Ganga !

first of all, I liked the location. Very closed to the metro station and the main road. The hostel staffs are very friendly. Hostel premises is very clean and well maintained. even the hostel is located in a central location, yet it was noise free. Moreover, the hostel is budget friendly and it really worth staying there.

It was family friendly and staff were supoer friendly and courteous. I really enjoyed dinning there and having a couple beers in the bar by the second floor. Super close to the airport which was what I needed. Standards were high enough, I refused going to cheaper places because I needed somewhere safe and clean for my family, and they met my expectations for having spent that extra buck.
