I really liked my little bedroom, private sitting room and private bath. My suite was just off the kitchen which was very convenient. Joe was very kind and helpful to make sure everything that I needed was sorted. It was also very nice to be able to use the washing machine.

The food we had was very good quality and the desert was to die for, The room was clean and tidy and plenty of parking close to the room. The hosts were fantastic and couldn't do enough for their guests, a really good atmosphere in the bar, talking to the locals and the dogs are allowed anywhere in the pub, would definitely return.

There are gorgeous views from the cottage, and the garden was perfect for our dog to run around and let off steam in. Mindful of the locals (aka sheep), we loved the long walks following the bridleways starting just over the road. The cottage itself is comfortable and warm. The bar and restaurant was nice, used by locals as well as hotel guests and was lively. The food was very nice. Breakfast cooked to order and again very nice. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We also enjoyed the al fresco cooking and tranquil atmosphere. The accommodation is walking distance to a great pub (The Boat) which offered a warm welcome and lovely food. There are also lots of walks in the area and Hayton is also close to Clumber Park and Lincoln if you fancied venturing further a field (30 mins drive).
