Aegina Town is a vibrant place full of cafes, restaurants, clothing and tourist shops. There are fruit sellers beside the marina selling the most delicious fresh fruit. It’s easy to visit the rest of the island using the local buses which cost only 2 Euros. A day trip to Ag Marina is highly recommended if you like swimming and sunbathing. The last group of beach umbrellas are free to use. You can buy drinks and food from the restaurant behind. They do beach service. Perdika is a nice day trip, especially if you go to Moni Island as well.
The Temple of Aphaia and Palachora are easily accessed by the local bus service. I enjoyed eating at Dromaki, where I had melt in your mouth, slow cooked lamb.

Aegina is a very pretty town with ferries coming and going all day, every day. Its only 40 mins from Piraeus, but a world away from the city. I visited in off season - November - but the weather was lovely at 23*C. There are plenty of places to eat along the waterfront, and it is an easy place to explore by walking, bus or taxi. You can hire bikes too just opposite the port. I visited the ruins & museum at the end of town; and travelled to other places on the island including the Temple of Aphaia, Agin Marina, and Paliachora. The people are very friendly. I could have easily stayed longer!

I Have grown up in Aegina seen it change and expand but it...
I Have grown up in Aegina seen it change and expand but it still keep a charm about it ,where there used to be little cafes bakeries and all sundries are now well expanded bars. The back street now have a myriad of shops and all you need provision wise, the old fish market survives and is renowned for its fresh fish and restaurants serving the same all the way back to Athens .
It gets now very busy at the weekend as the Atheans flood back from the city .the town prides itself on its impressive ancient history and modern cultural endeavours galleries and festivals . There are not the boys on tour nonsense beer bellies rowdy 'go on down it Dave' ! of other big islands which i have also lived on in Greece. the larger groups are made of the sailing fraternity so you may get a group of 10 Dutch, German or English but they have a different and more respectful etiquette, the bars are very much for Greeks of all ages with the tourist filling the other seats in harmony . it can be noisy as the ferries bring in and take out persons and trade all day ,but it settles again as the ships leave .

A higgledy piggledy jumble of small streets with both traditional and modern shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Plenty of scope to wander, too small to get lost in. Pistachios for sale everywhere: ultimately I chose to get mine from Mourtzis at P. Irioti 57, and am very happy I did. Eating: for simple, reasonably priced, fresh and delicious Greek food, and excellent, friendly service I would recommend O ΤΣΙΑΣ (Tsias) along the waterfront. Don't miss the Archeological Museum - it's absolutely fascinating.
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Avra. It is in a great location very close to the port, beaches, and restaurants, and a short walk from the shops. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a cute little balcony where we could hang out our bathers and wet clothes. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was lovely. I would recommend this hotel as it is in a very convenient location yet not too close to the main shopping/restaurant strip so not too busy and loud at night.
Spacious room in a beautiful hotel in Aegina Town, slightly away from the busier port area, but with good access to the various shops and tavernas (within 5 to 10 minutes' walk). The garden is absolutely lovely and the view from the room balcony (towards the temple and the sea beyond) was stunning, particularly at sunset. Breakfast was also very good with homemade items and fruit from the garden, and the staff was also very helpful and a good laugh. Would absolutely recommend.
I have stayed here before many times ,the sea view rooms, are for the view themselves ,well worth the money .The hotel is a lovely base to breakfast ,dine ,swim and shop from .There is noise from the the port but that's to be expected as its the clock for the towns activity as ferry's come and go , So if you enjoy a bit of bustle along with the quiet all good and allows you to go from shutting your bedroom door to foot into the warm Aegean water, circa 3 minutes.
- the staff was very friendly and helping, even despite some language barriers. we had half a day to stay, but did not have that night booked, they let us check out later, which was vert nice
- the daily cleaning was very handy
- super nice location, very central, close to the beach, port where ferry comes and departs and a lot of lovely coastline restaurants
- overall value for money was excellent
First of all, Marios the owner was so kind and friendly, and helped me immediately when I had some maintenance issues. The location was excellent, really easy walk to Aegina Town and port, and there was a great bakery very close. Bed was comfortable, wifi good, excellent value for money. There was a fridge and some cutlery, plates, cups etc which was handy. I would definitely come back.
Perfect location for easy access to Aegina Town Harbour, local tavernas, shops and archaeological sites, handy for nearby beaches. Christina and George make it their business to help you enjoy your stay. The beds were among the most comfortable of any accommodation we've stayed in. The Fistiki Festival celebrating the pistachio harvest during our stay was an unexpected bonus.
The house is conveniently located in town near historic ruins, the city center and the ferry! The hostess Reanna cooks home-made pastries every morning along with fresh squeezed juice! Reanna was so kind and welcoming! it is more like a home than a hotel. We enjoyed a view of the ocean from our balcony and all the beauty of Aegina.
The pool was very clean, the hotel was very calm and clean. Family welcoming, couldn't have been kinder, it's a quiet spot. I loved the beach across the street. The ambiance was very quiet. Lots of marble. A proper old school hotel. Excellent experience. 10 min walk to town. I loved my stay and extended.
A small family run hotel, amazing staff always happy to help, felt like family. Excellent location within walking distance to all Aegina city attractions, ferry port and restaurants. Had a nice room with very comfortable bed, refrigerator and a balcony facing the beach.
The studio was adorable, had everything we needed and was only a very short walk into the town, port, and the temple of Apollo. The owner was so friendly and helpful and gave us all kinds of information and even the bus schedules to local sites.
Host and staff were very welcoming and helpful regarding information about where everything was located in town inc restaurants, beaches and buses to enable us to fully explore the island.
Cleanliness was always of a high standard
Very friendly staff. Very nice amenities. Location is great - only 14 minutes walking to the port and around 5 minutes walking to the beginning of town. Lovely breakfast.
Beautiful hotel, great rooms, great pool, wry clean, fast Wi Fi, big supermarket and bread shop almost next door. Just a short 2 min walk to town and beach.
Breakfast selection very good. Staff were lovely- very friendly and helpful. Beautifully clean. Easy access to the port and the facilities of Aegina town.
