the hotel is just opposite the airport entrance and a couple of minutes to the arrival and departure area.- the shuttle was a pick-up by the staff, an excellent solution as i arrived at 3am in the night.- i have no comparison with other african hotels - at first sight it seemed small and dark with dim light, but finally it was reasonably clean. no mosquitoes (!), flies, ants or any kind of bugs. some small repairs could be done, for ex. the door of the shower cabin was broken.- the tv was not connected, but as i never look tv on my trips, i did not ask for the reason. wifi was excellent all over the hotel. the staff very friendly and helpful.- all in all a middle class hotel, good solution if you want to be near the airport.

What an amazing place! It is the perfect place to break up the journey between Akagera and Kigali. Stunning setting, friendly staff, great service, lovely food. What more could you ask for? Btw, some reviewers have complained about noise; this is NOT from Vintage Cottage itself, but a nearby hotel. During our stay we only heard it at the weekend. If you want quiet then plan to go during the week. Though we didn't find the music too bad and the place itself is absolutely worth it.
