This chalet is non-smoking and soundproof. ACT one We are a group of 6 people staying here for the Mount Fuji climb. The house is good for its value and definitely deserves a much higher rating. The location of the house is good. There are different convenient stores around the corner. Metro and JR station is within walking distance. Big department stores including Isetan , Keio and Matsumoto Kiyoshi were nearby, making it accessible to almost everything. The house is clean. The living and dining room is spacious with a well equipped kitchen and plenty of cutlery. The bedrooms are roomy with a total of 6 double beds and 2 tatami rooms which should definitely accommodate more than 10 persons. There are 2 washing machines available for use and helped clean all our clothes after the Mount Fuji hike. The 2 separated bathrooms and 2 toilets makes it perfect for 6 people. The staff at the reception is really helpful with fast response to enquiry. Their help to pre-order a birthday cake added extra bonus to our stay.

Shanti Bungalow is located in Ogasawara, and can be reached with a ferry ride from Takeshiba Passenger Terminal in Tokyo. It offers a kitchen, washing machine, shower room and cosy bedrooms fitted with bunk beds. Free WiFi and free parking is available. If you’re looking for pure nature, I highly recommend. You’re definitely going to need a car, since the location is pretty remote, but it’s way better than staying in the port. Yes, there are frogs and lizards, but it’s not as bad as some people we’re mentioning here. I mean - it’s nature, isn’t it? We stayed in superior bungalow with private shower and toilet, but we were also able to use shared utilities, which came in handy since we were 4 people staying. There are only 3 bungalows in total, so the place is not crowded at all and has very friendly vibe. Owners are great and they offer plenty of other activities, like tours, kayaking etc, which comes very handy. I definitely recommend!
