Very friendly owners couple. Owner capable of arranging turtle watching trips, tuktuk rides, etc. Able to provide truly excellent dinner with fresh seafood caught by himself earlier that day (unlike many other places claiming the same). Accommodation has a brilliant location, just a few minutes walk from bus station. Perhaps a bit spartan, but does the job, ideal for those traveling on shoestring. Excellent value!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Very kind and helpful owners, GORGEOUS renovation, great breakfast. The pool is the perfect temperature and it felt kind of like a homestay. One of our favorite spots we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka so far. The villa is gorgeous and they have the best recommendations / can help you arrange anything you need. We got a tuktuk to Silent Beach which was heavily, and there’s a restaurant called Kokomos not even ten minutes walking that was truly excellent / had a great vibe. Highly recommend staying here — it’s a really special place.

the staff was super friendly and helpful with everything, we also got a free upgrade because we were the only guests. the room was clean, big and the bed was super comfortable. good A/C. free water and the room had a fridge. hot water in the shower and good pressure. breakfast was good. good location. nice neighborhood and really quiet. you get good value for your money. highly recommend this place.

A fabulous place for people who are looking for relaxation. Cottages right on the beach. Beautiful views. Very friendly and helpful staff. If you want to take a break from the tourist hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. I sincerely recommend.

The owners are so kind and accomodating. They go above and beyond what is required of them. Their little boy also very kind. Staying here feels like a home away from home. The room and bathroom were enormous for a solo traveller. They provided a mosquito net and a stand fan. It is the basics but also a lovely way to detach and recharge from the hustle and bustle of city life. I would highly recommend to stay here for a homely feel and to be surrounded by nature and your thoughts.

I took a cooking class with a friend of mine. They put so much effort into it, organized everything and really showed us authentically how they cook. Definitely can recommend taking the class there, they even gave us a small booklet with the recipes. They were also flexible as to our wishes (eg just vegetarian curries). The food we cooked was amazing! Also the price for it was great in comparison to other places. Loveliest hosts u had during my two weeks in Sri Lanka!

We loved staying at Sunray Beach. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and the biggest room we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. The family that run it are amazing and extremely friendly and couldn't do more for us. Breakfast was huge, kept us full until dinner, and the fresh seafood that was cooked for us was the best we've ever had. Waking up every morning having breakfast on the beach and watching the fishermen bring in the catch of the day is something we will never forget. Thank you again hopefully we will be back with smaller cases next time.

The room was like a little studio, very spacious and had a terras which feels like an extra addition to the personal space. Samman is a great, attentive host, providing a good balance of giving you sufficient space and being sufficiently present in case you needed something. Samman is passionate about turtles and shells.. you can truly trust him... I truly felt at home... not far from a quiet beach, near the turtle project which makes it so easy to see both the big turtles at night, as the little new borns... ask Samman, he will tell you all you want to know :)
