The team led by Milan were kind friendly and courteous. Our room was extra large and the bed sublime. The pool area was cute and clean and a wonderful place to cool off. The gardens were lovely. We enjoyed being away from the chaos of Negombo town. Breakfast was exceptional. The very noisy air conditioner and ceiling fan were the only minor negatives.

The property was beautiful with lovely tropical gardens and comfortable rooms (with a fabulous outdoor bathroom). Shiraj was a lovely host who cares deeply about the property and his guests. They have created a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere and even grow an all organic garden on the property! All of the staff was helpful and hospitable during our stay and accommodated a very early morning checkout time- we wished we had more nights to spend at this hotel.

The attention to detail and care in each meal was something we truly appreciated. What made our stay truly unforgettable, though, was the incredible kindness and hospitality of the owner’s family. They were always ready to help with anything we needed and went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. A very special thank you to their beautiful three girls, whose warmth, smiles, and gentle presence made our visit even more memorable. They are a lovely family that we will never forget. The Travellers Rest is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place filled with heart. We’re so grateful for the experience and would absolutely love to return one day.

The staff was helpful and made sure our stay went smoothly from start to finish. If you’re looking for a relaxing escape with great amenities and a beautiful pool, I highly recommend Sun Villa.
