I gathered my family and friends in this house to celebrate my birthday, and we loved every single moment we spent there. The house itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and incredibly welcoming. Our host was wonderful - communication was always easy and quick, and he truly made our comfort his top priority, which felt very heartwarming. And I have to mention the sweetest dog who stayed in the house with us - such a tender, playful creature, always ready for cuddles (and for snacking on anything we forgot to put in the fridge, but she was so adorable we couldn’t even be mad!). We left with the warmest memories and truly hope to come back one day.

We happened to pick our moment by arriving in Sintra on the day of the power outage across Portugal. Needless to say it was quite chaotic due to there being no electricity or running water and a very patchy mobile phone reception, we also made the mistake of not having an emergency supply of cash on us. Thankfully, our host Pedro was on the scene to greet us and allow us entry into our stay, meaning we could secure our luggage and take a breather to find out what was going on. He was very reassuring and committed himself to ensuring that the international crisis would not get in the way of our stay with him. Rest assured after disappearing for a few hours, he returned with Maria and Jorge from battling through the panicked supermarkets with a car load of supplies (food, coal/fire lighters and bottled water) for each of the guests staying at the complex, all most welcomed and needed and for no additional charge! On top of this we were invited to share a bottle (or two) of wine with him and his dog Charlie (a treasure) whilst we all patiently waited for the power to come back on, which it did around 9/10pm. We all ended up having a wonderful and memorable evening together making light of a crisis, with Pedro and his family demonstrating the true meaning of community spirit. The rest of our stay went without issue and we were able to experience the Tiny Home for what it was worth, which is an exceptionally well kitted out comfortable stay located within the charming streets of Sintra. The facilities and shower was great, and the jacuzzi tub is not to be missed (it’s an absolute delight under the stars at night). There are a few shops within walking distance, as well as a great selection of restaurants and bars (including some craft beer establishments).

We loved the place. The deco was very nice, the location was great with a fruit store, butchers, bakery and restaurant very close, also car parking was easy, the locals were all very welcoming. Everything was supplied by the host, including salt and pepper, and a bottle of wine.
