Staying at Kandy Living Home Stay was one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Sri Lanka. The home itself is beautifully designed — clean, cozy, and incredibly comfortable — with thoughtful touches that made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the hosts are warm and welcoming, always ready to help or share insights about the area. One of the absolute highlights of my stay was the cooking class with Chef Janith. He is not only a talented chef but also a wonderful teacher. With great patience and passion, he guided us through each step of preparing a traditional Sri Lankan meal, sharing stories, tips, and local knowledge along the way. The setup was perfect, and the food we created was absolutely delicious. I left Kandy Living not just with amazing memories, but with new cooking skills, a deeper appreciation for Sri Lankan culture, and the feeling of having been truly cared for. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kandy — it’s more than just a stay; it’s a full, heartfelt experience.

Everything was perfect! The place was clean has a very homey vibe. Host Nalin made our stay more memorable and enjoyable. Simply amazing place. from the way we were greeted and treated throughout our stay to impeccable garden and stunning views from the pool. This place really deserves to be 5 star hotel. hotels historical touch is a real bonus, and staff were professional, helpful and chatty when needed yet not too bothering when we were just enjoying ourselves. our butler Sagar (Sajar) was excellent, it was pleasure to chat with him, he arranged everything we needed. chef prepared our meals to our taste and was willing to make any changes to tailor the meals according to our kids dietary requirements. even offered us meals that aren’t on the menu. when they heard that we enjoyed dosa in Kandy, our butler arranged with chef to cook it specifically for us. we stayed in hotel much more than we were planning to. also we were positively surprised by food menu price policy, it was definitely perfect value comparing with other places during our six weeks in Sri Lanka.

We had a wonderful stay, next time we stay a bit longer to enjoy all the fancy facilities of the property. Chaminda is a really lovely host, his communication is fantastic, sent lots of information before we checked in and was always on hand with help and recommendations from the moment we arrived in Sri Lanka, even helped organize taxis and restaurant recommendations before we even arrived in Kandy, we could not ask for more from a host. The villa is beautiful, with a green garden area with an open terrace and lounge. Among the facilities at this property are fully equipped kitchen facilities and guests can enjoy their own cooking free Wi-Fi throughout the property. If you are in Kandy and want a peaceful out of town stay, this villa is for you 👌

This pristine two-story house is very spacious with a flight of stairs leading to the bath, bedroom and sitting area. The ceiling fan was adequate on most nights. The bedding is very clean and the bed comfortable. The large kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare meals. The location is in the town of Kundasale, a quiet, residential area, about a 20 minute drive to Kandy, depending on the traffic. There are an assortment of shops and restaurants about a 10-minute walk from the house. There are tuk tuk transport drivers available near the main road. Buddhi is the consummate host taking great care in giving excellent recommendations in Kandy and Kundasale. You'll be safe and in good hands at Liv House. I highly recommend this property.
