Astral Zone Cottage is the perfect place to stay when spending a few days in Ella. Located outside of the main town and close enough that everything you want to do whilst in Ella is accessible. The property is located 10 minutes from the train tracks where you can then pick up trails to Ella’s Rock in one direction and Ella town and nine arch bridge in the other. The host, Maduranga, is super helpful, organising really reasonable tasty dinners and tuk tuks. He is really friendly but also respectful of privacy. Would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. The view is also great.

It’s a well made and maintained cabin with two stories. All the facilities are available. Tasty homemade food was served to your room. Host is also nice and responsive. Staff also very helpful. We should have stayed more.

I had a wonderful stay at one of the best houses in Sri Lanka. The place is beautiful with a peaceful environment, and the food was excellent, especially the breakfast with fresh local fruits. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large, the bed was very comfortable, and everything was clean and tidy, which made the stay very relaxing. The house is located very close to Ella city less than 10 minutes away and it’s easy to find affordable taxi and 24-hour tuk-tuk services. This place gave me unforgettable memories, and I definitely want to come again. I highly recommend this house for families and couples looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. everyone was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The accommodation itself was top-notch—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail, from the bedding to the amenities, reflected a commitment to quality and comfort. We truly enjoyed our stay and felt welcome and safe throughout our visit. The house is spacious, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills, including the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery. The hosting family is incredibly kind, and the meals they prepared were a real highlight — delicious, plenty, and made with great care. The location is a bit remote, so occasionally tuktuk drivers would only take us to the main road rather than directly to the house. However, you can join the trail to the wonderful Ella Rock hike close to the house half way, so you can be there at sunrise more easily. Overall, a wonderful stay with warm hospitality and great access to nature. Highly recommended!

It’s a clean well equipped cottage tucked away in the mountains surrounded by nature. Excellent kitchen- with cooking facilities, Laundry - with washing machine and clothes dryer.
