The most incredible view over the valley from the balcony, where you can sit to watch the sunrise. The family is so welcoming and cooks delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts, as well as dinners on request (for only 1000RS / person). For breakfast, you can choose a selection of coconut pancakes, coconut roti with dhal, omelettes, hoppers, fresh fruit and toast with jam. They offer tea and coffee throughout the day, laundry for a very cheap price and even arranged our tuktuk into town. I felt so well cared for from start to finish, thank you!

Great place to stay with lovely hosts, the breakfast and dinner are the best and you can ask them anything anytime. Location is perfect, green everywhere, birds sounds, view on the milky way at night and you can see the train drive by during the day. Wish we stayed longer!

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. everyone was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We stayed one night at The Palace Eco Cottage in Ella and absolutely loved it. The cottage sits high up in the hills, and the view over the valley and surrounding landscape is simply stunning—one of those places where you just stop and take it all in. The room was very spacious, spotless, and felt incredibly peaceful. We would recommend it for the setting alone, but what truly makes this place special is the owner. She is such a dedicated, warm, and genuinely friendly person, and you can feel her attention to detail in everything—from the rooms to the food. We had an incredible breakfast with eggs, fresh vegetables, fruits, and delicious sweet treats. Honestly, it was one of the best breakfasts we had during our entire trip in Sri Lanka. She also offered us lunch and dinner—completely free of charge—which was unbelievably kind. We had already made plans in town, so we didn’t get to try it, but if breakfast was any indication, it must be amazing as well. A real highlight was the family’s generosity in offering to drive us to Ella town in their tuk tuk whenever we needed, again free of charge. It made everything so easy and added such a personal touch to the stay. All in all, we can’t recommend The Palace Eco Cottage enough. A beautiful place with incredible hospitality—if you’re coming to Ella, this is truly a wonderful spot to stay.

This accommodation was stunning. The room over looks the forest, it is so peaceful and beautiful, we liked that it was a little out of the busy loud town. It was only a short walk down the train tracks to town anyways. The family was so sweet and so accomodating. The breakfast was also the best weve had the whole trip. We wish we’d stayed longer. Definitely recommend this place to everyone, its beautiful.
