This villa is amazing! It’s next door to a few historic houses that have turned into musea. Actually this villa used to be a museum too but the owners decided to turn it into a place where you don’t only visit a historic house but you also get a chance to truly experience it! The rooms are big, bright and clean. Some of the furniture are from the 1800’s , it was very special to see it. There are old family photos on the wall too so the whole building has a rich history! It is also said that the prince of the Albanian kingdom in the 1800’s used to stay here. The location is perfect, it’s a 3 minute walk to the bazar in the old center and the villa is located on the middle of the hill. So not uphill or downhill but right in the middle! There is a garden full of turtles next door and the owner made amazing breakfast for us with products from her own organic garden. It was a truly special experience.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and professional, always making sure I felt comfortable. The room was very clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect, close to the main attractions but still quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

The villa is so beautiful and very comfortable. The views from the bedrooms and balcony were gorgeous. The hosts are top class, they couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating during our stay. We were a group of 8 and there was plenty of space for all of us. The walk to town is short (maybe 15 mins), and scenic, so everything was accessible by foot. You can get a taxi if you don’t wish to walk. In the day we walked into the town and enjoyed Gjirokastër, and in the evenings we sat on the patio enjoying the peace and how beautiful it was there. There was parking at the top of the street which was great. I would happily stay again.

Huge 4 bedroom apartment (sleeps 10+crib) on the 2nd floor of a house. Multiple balconies, 2 bathrooms and very spacious common area. Parking in front of the house. Grocery store and bakery nearby. I would highly recommend.

This penthouse has so much space, with a nice view over the city. The terrace is lovely to stay during the day or at night with a wine. There are bars, shops and restaurants close by. Private parking is available. The owner is super helpful. My son and myself both arrived sick and the owner cooked us a meal, never had this kind of service before. This the the best place to stay in Gjirokaster. Take a taxi to the old town and the castle. Use the VrapOn taxi app for that.

Absolutely exceptional stay, truly the best apartment we’ve had in Albania (and we’ve stayed in many)! Located just a little outside the historic centre of Gjirokastër, this place offered the perfect mix of peace, stunning views of the mountains and the city, while still being close to everything (especially ideal if you have a car). The apartment is on the ground floor, and on the first floor lives the owner who was simply an incredible host from beginning to end. He gave us tips on the best places to eat and visit, was always available to help with anything we needed, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome (at one point even bringing us food made by his aunt!). We genuinely felt safe, supported and cared for during our entire stay. The property itself had everything: a large living room, lovely bedroom, spotless bathroom, AC, hairdryer, fully-equipped kitchen area, secure parking, a jacuzzi (which we didn’t have time to use but looked amazing), and even fresh fruit and bottles of water waiting for us on arrival! The surroundings were magical and peaceful, with cute cats wandering around the property, and unbeatable views. If you want to stay somewhere beautiful, quiet, authentic and still be minutes away from Gjirokastër’s centre, this is the perfect choice. 5 stars without a doubt, we will absolutely recommend it to everyone!

Very comfortable and spacious accommodation. Superb host who was most gracious. Fantastic Albanian breakfast, that gave us a great start to the day. Great balcony with mountain view that was enjoyed whilst relaxing, also far enough away from the inner city.Easy walk to explore the sites especially the castle/fortress and the bazaar/old town. Girokaster ihas plenty to offer.

George's villa is in a great location with views of the castle and surrounding hills, yet just a short walk (uphill) along the quaint cobbled streets. With so many restaurants nearby you are spoilt for choice, though if you want to cater for yourself the villa has everything you could need to do so with the perfect terrace to dine on. Arrival, check in and out could not have been easier and our point of contact - Fiona - was brilliant as were the helpful people from the hostel/hotel across the road when it came to parking our car.
