Absolutely stunning private onsen, really magical and beautiful. The food was outstanding and there was so much of it.

Everybody including the owners are so nice and helpful. They speak sufficient English to get along well. The Onsen baths are great, private use, the outside Onsen under the clear sky is a hit. Breakfast was phantastic, japanese style but followed by an excellent expresso coffee and a Panna Cotta at the end - can it be better? no! For good reason (the quality and freshness of the wonderful food) you are asked to make a reservation for dinner and/or breakfast. Though on the other side of the street is a small Cafe and Shop supplying everything you might need. It will probably difficult to get there with public transport - so coming by car is better. It is quite a bit away from everything. Therefore one of the trailheads to climb Mount Yakedake is just 1 km away from the Hotel.

Located in 15-minute bus ride from JR Takayama Station, Guest House & Cafe SOY is surrounded by lush greenery. Free WIFi is provided and free private parking is available on site. The property also provides free pick-up service from JR Takayama Station. Free shuttle bus service is available when check-in, check-out, after dinner. Amazing experience, one of the best places we stayed on our trip to Japan. Everything was even better than we expected and we had high expectations after reading all the prior reviews. Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. Exceptional - the location is stunning, the owners so warm and friendly, the dinner was truly an experience - the paired wines really elevated the experience. The decor has been carefully thought out. The onsen was really enjoyable. Probably one of the best meals/experiences I have had. The owners and staff deserve real credit for how much attention to detail, creativity, love and perfection they have put into this place. 10/10 experience, we hope to come back!!!

Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout. An excellent ryokan with kind people. Breakfast is great and the onsen very nice :)

Located in the historical town of Magome, Tajimaya features Japanese-style accommodations in a 110-year old building. Each room features a flat-screen TV, and guests can relax in the public bath. The property lies in front of a traditional stone-paved street, and is a 5-minute walk from the Magome Bus Stop. Free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas. Food was amazing and they catered to our vegan dietary restriction with a beautiful dinner/breakfast. Also rooms were comfortable and I had an amazing bath! Highly recommend
