Though the is between the highway a river (Railway station on the other side), noise was not disturbing. Rather calm, relaxing place, with lot of sculptures, paintings. Rooms are modern, well equipped. We did not miss air condition. Kids were enthusiastic about the 2 friendly dog of the house laying around the stairs, main entrance... Location: If you have time walk over the wooden bridge , under the train lines and spend some time in the old city. Castle, Coinery (mint) powered by water wheel... Breakfast was delicious.

The Alpine-style rooms all feature a balcony, satellite TV, a seating area, and a bathroom. Our skiing was also great because of the accommodation in this hotel. The breakfast was excellent, cleanliness in the premises and the room at a high level, very nice and helpful staff. We will definitely come back :)

Lovely room, lovely breakfast, stunning location and Christian the owner was brilliant. We used the Gasthof Schontal as a base for travelling to and from Kitzbuhel for a days skiing and the Hahnenkahm races. A half hour drive takes you to Kirchberg in Tyrol where there is free parking and a free shuttle train which takes you into Kitzbuhel itself. Perfect

Extremely easy to get to from train and to main ski lift. Amazing hospitality.

The rooms were so nice and quiet and comfortable with beautiful Mountain views. It is a working farm so there are horses and sheep and dogs; we loved it all. The breakfast was delicious- bacon, eggs, breads, fruit, cheese - all freshly sourced. We had desserts and cappuccino which were nicely presented and the warm chocolate cake was to die for . We hope to visit again and highly recommend to everyone
