We had such an amazing time at Machiya no Yado Gu! The house gave us the feeling of traditional Japan, while being kitted out with all the modern amenities we could have wished for. Spacious, quiet, tastefully designed - and an unbeatable location a stone’s throw away from Nara park. Best of all, we had one of the most incredible hosts we’ve ever encountered. He went out of his way to generously help us every step of the way. Even drove us to the train station on his actual birthday! Can’t wait to be back!

Super nice affordable accommodation and very nice location. Decent size rooms for Japan. Walked to everywhere during my 2 days stay. Tried the onsen a couple of times, while it is quite small it is very nice to have. I was very happy with my stay. They even held my luggage until 4pm for my bike trip.

Breakfast featured a delicious toast set, with freshly baked bread and a peaceful atmosphere to start the day. Overall, the combination of the hotel's convenient location, friendly staff, and thoughtful amenities made our stay both enjoyable and worthwhile.
