We had access to a variety of onsens at Oku No Yu, my personal favorite was the Riverside Onsen (mixed) where you could see the waterfall, amazing view ! Not only do you have access to different unique onsens, you also have access to a sauna and cold bath. The traditional breakfast was also a very unique experience and the food was delicious. Finally, the staff was always helpful and patient with us, the room was really comfortable and cozy as well ! It was overall such a great place to stay at, definitely worth it !!

The staff were attentive and spoke English. Fujimoto-san in particular was very polite and friendly. He helped us from picking us to the bus stop to the end of our trip.  Although the location is not in Kurokawa Onsen town, the staff were accommodating and dropped us off and picked us up from the town and from and to the bus stop when we arrived and left. The room and onsens were clean and spacious. We enjoyed the outdoor private onsen in particular. The public cave onsen was also quite fun.  The dinner and lunch was delicious highlighted local ingredients expertly prepared by the chef.  Overall, our stay at Hanamura was beyond our expectations and was relaxing and peaceful.

The staff were super accommodating and friendly. The Onsen were amazing and many to chose from. If you arrive by bus it’s good to contact for a pick up as it’s a bit of a distance from kurokawa village.

The private onsen room is great! Clean and spacious, cozy bed and all. It was lovely how the dogs were welcome too, and they were thought of. The dog run was great! The staff was super friendly. We loved it here!

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath.

Everything was perfect! Service was perfect, everyone was super polite and really made us feel taken care of. The meals were elaborate and delicious. The onsen in the room was magnificent, what a peaceful experience. I 100% recommend this Ryokan for a special onsen experience.

I like Yamabiko Ryokan very much. Even the price is quite expensive but we can get all best things from this accommodation. The room is very nice and good view by the river. There is toilet inside the room too! We can enjoy all 6 private onsens which is free of charge. And the public outdoor onsen is very nice too! I tried all of it ha..ha.. :) The staff is very good service. They take care all of us since we checked in until checking out. Dinner and breakfast are served in private room too! I recommend this place a lot !

Amazing stay!!! First time staying in traditional ryokan and did not let down. The staff treated us like very honoured guests! We came before check in time but they let us leave our suitcases. When we came back they had already lifted them upstairs to our room! Got robes/kimono to wear. Our room had a nice view of the river. Welcome drinks provided. Had our own toilet in our room, while no shower as there is a shared onsen downstairs (separate gender ones and family onsen). Dinner was STUNNING! Many courses so I was super full!! The man who served us during dinner was so polite and explained what all the foods were. Although I didn’t expect much English all the staff did speak very well! Breakfast also was massive and delicious!
