The most beautiful and scenic location you can ever imagine! The room was small but very well maintained. It was in sync with the cave dwelling concept and maintained the essence of the Matera cave living. Overall a fantastic stay and definitely recommend.

The room was amazing (balcony with great view and huge jacuzzi), and the staff was very helpful and welcoming. Nice touches (jazz music speakers, variety at breakfast).

The place is excellent! In every way! Spectacular location, good service (includes pick-up and drive back to parking as the hotel is in Sassi area and trafic is restricted there), very very good breakfast with local cheese and meats choices. We wished to stay for additional night, but the hotel was fully booked... and no wonder why... very much recommended!

It’s a wonderful place to stay. Very relaxing and a bit unique. You need a car to stay here as it’s a little remote. The restaurant is delicious and good value,the rooms are spacious and the pool and sunset views make it very special

Amazing breakfast buffet and kind staff. Staying here was unbelievable. The architects did an amazing job designing the rooms within the spirit of the ancient dwellings. Our room had a terrace overlooking the town which was stunning. When we arrived the sun was setting and the town cascading down the valley was bathed in golden light. An image we will never forget.

Great central little hotel, literally 3 minutes' walk to Matera's main square. Very friendly and helpful staff, quiet location despite its centrality. Good wifi. Free street parking very tricky to find (but available around the hotel) but we found paid for parking round the corner (1 euro/hour from 8am to 8.30pm but free of charge between 8.30pm and 8am).

Set right inside Matera's Sassi area, a UNESCO site, Albergo Italia provides free WiFi throughout. The Italia's en-suite rooms feature air conditioning, and some have views of the Sassi.
