The owners are friendly and accommodating. They gave me great recommendations for places to visit. The property is gated and feels very safe, and provides a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the town. My room was very clean and comfortable. The room had a refrigerator, the shared kitchen had the equipment for making simple meals or reheating leftovers.

We spent a wonderful week at Best Western in Costa Rica with friends. The ocean-view pool was amazing, and the breakfast was always tasty. The staff were super friendly — a special thanks to Itzel, who was always smiling and happy to help! The beach is very close, and we learned to surf there. We could even borrow surfboards from the hotel for free, which was a big plus. We also enjoyed a fun pool party over the weekend. For the price, this hotel is a great deal. We were very satisfied and highly recommend it!

We had such a positive experience at Villas Macondo. From the very beginning of booking, their communications were clear. Upon arrival early in the morning, Susan was so welcoming, showing us around the property and let us check in early. The lush landscaping was like an oasis in busy Tamarindo, but still a short walk to the main "drag" or street and to the beach. I loved our hammock on our room deck with cafe chairs where we can hang out and relax during the HOT midday time. The room was large, with high ceilings and bathroom also huge and clean. The shared kitchen was convenient where we made breakfast, with complimentary coffee machine and can store any leftovers. After checking out, we hung out at the pool for a little longer, which Susan again encouraged us to do, and we were able to see a family of howling monkeys in the trees above. All in all, we had a magical stay in Tamarindo and Villas Macondo was a lovely home base. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Amazing staff. Helped us with booking shuttle when everything was full. Very nice, clean, quiet and safe. Right next to the main road in Tamarindo. Five-ten minute walk to everything.
