Rooms were amazing with classic antique furniture, incredible comfortable beds and bedding and very welcome AC in the summer heat. Swimming pool also provided some relief. Dinner was incredible (Karoo lamb chops, ostrich, lamb shank, etc) but probably best thing was the amazing and very welcoming service from Sarita and team.

Mooiplaas Guesthouse is a luxury guest house situated on a working ostrich farm, within 11 km of Oudtshoorn. This owner-managed property offers views of the Swartberg Mountains, an outdoor swimming pool and an on site spa. Our third visit to this wonderful oasis. We come to see Andre the manager whom we fell in love with on our first visit approx 13 years ago. He was on top form making everyone feel welcome and ensuring everyone was having a relaxing time. The property has a lovely large infinity pool overlooking the ostriches and fields which is so relaxing, there’s also a seating area and a bar which is is great to lounge in after a busy day out exploring. Breakfast is an excellent varied hot and cold buffet and dinner is a delicious three course event with a Braai of a choice of meat, I really recommend the Karoo lamb or the local ostrich. Room super comfortable overlooking the garden and fields with big king bed and lovely soft pillows, I love the decadent ostrich skin headboards that only this area of SA would have and consider normal. large bathroom with big bath and separate shower, also separate loo. Always sad to leave this place. Parking very safe just outside your room, very convenient. Everything spotlessly clean.

Each of the spacious rooms at Karoo Retreat- Self Catering Villas and Guest House has a kitchen, and a dining area where a Continental breakfast is served each morning. The rooms are all air-conditioned, equipped with a flat-screen TV and have an en suite bathroom. Beautiful, clean and modern apartments. Well equipped with all amenities. Secure parking. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would have loved to stay longer.

Relax in your stylish room set amongst lush indigenous gardens with a patio offering spectacular mountain views. Each is decorated in warm colours. Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with lovely views of the farm. Dinner was a highlight — the ostrich bobotie was outstanding, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel truly welcomed. The peaceful setting made it all even more special. Highly recommended!
