I wish I could magically wake up every weekend in Alvis' home in Aglona.. What a wonderful place! We loved absolutely everything about it : the house itself is so comfortable and full of history, the nature that surrounds it and all the lovely areas set up to enjoy it are so peaceful and outstandingly beautiful, black banya is an unforgettable experience, the town is quiet but with everything one might need and so many things to explore. This place is heaven for anyone who would like to slow down and enjoy what really matters: peace and quiet, natural beauty and good company. We had the warmest welcome, Alvis was so thoughtful and always made sure we were comfortable and never had to worry about anything. I am truly grateful for his kindness and hospitality! I wish we had stayed longer, but I have a feeling it's not the last time we visited this place :)

We reserved our whole stay at the Egles Villa, but on the first night of our stay there was a wedding and we were kindly offered to stay at Ziedu Villa which is located at the other part of the complex, near the lake. Both the Ziedu Villa and Egles Villa exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was so plentiful, we barely needed any food until dinner :) All the staff that we came in contact with was kind, forthcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the SPA, the atmosphere around the complex, the free transfer between the parts of the Resort and the cat Silva who you can see in one of the photos.

Everything, it was quiet and birds were singing, a lot of space for everybody and everything. Took a nice walk to the lake and enjoyed the water, guys enjoyed the boat and went fishing.

It has 3 stars rating but feels like at least 4 stars. Perfectly clean and spacious room with all conveniences and even a fridge. The hotel is located in the area of a sports facility and there are lots of parking spaces around. The main sights of Rezekne are within just 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes of walk.

Facing the seafront, Silene Resort & Spa is a holiday park featuring a 4-star accommodation in Silene. It has a private beach area, infinity pool and parking on-site. This venue is located, literally in the middle of the sticks close to the Belarus border. It has to be said that under these circumstances, it appeared the wises to make use of the restaurant of the hotel – and what a surprise: we had one of the best meals during the whole of our three weeks holiday. What an excellent cook. They should make sure that they can hold onto him.
