The room was pristine and well equipped, with WiFi, AC, hot showers, mosquito nets and comfortable beds. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and spoke very good English. The garden is beautiful and immaculately maintained, it really was a green paradise. The food was delicious, we tasted lots of different traditional Sri Lankan dishes with generous portions provided. The aubergine curry was a particular highlight. Highly recommend booking your Safari through the hosts, we did and it was a treat. Our guide was fantastic and he joyfully shared his knowledge and passion for animals with us. We saw lots of Elephants including babies and many other animals and birds, which we think was only possible due to his local knowledge. Don’t miss your chance to stay here if you’re in the area.

The Sri Lankan curry and Sri Lankan breakfast were incredible and the portion sizes were huge. The added extras were a bonus such as the complimentary 10 minute massage, the welcome drink, afternoon tea and mocktail with dinner. The location was perfect for safari. The staff were so accommodating and friendly!! The attention to detail at this hotel was fabulous, we could not understand how they manage to keep everything so clean and pristine but they do. We both agreed that this is one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had!!

Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. City Elephant is ideally situated for getting to the park, right on the main drag through town. The owners are super friendly. My room was large with a good bed and good AC. The restaurant out by the street looks unassuming, but DO eat there...these guys cook beautifully. I had a rice/curry lunch that was just lovely.

Good location close to Udawalawe National Park and the staff was extremely welcoming :) Big thanks to Roshan for going above and beyond throughout our stay. They offered reasonable prices for accommodation and also organised a safari tour which turned out to be amazing 🙂

Extra facilities include a 24-hour front desk, meeting rooms, a tour desk and ironing service. The property was the perfect place to stay when visiting Udawalawe National Park. Everything was easily organised by Hashan and he was super accommodating and a friendly person. Hashan provided recommendations for other things to do in the area and drove us in his tuk tuk to the shops and ATM when needed. The room was huge with a great bathroom and balcony. Breakfast was more than enough and full of fresh Sri Lankan ingredients.
