The rooms are spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, and the bathroom has some real hot shower. The swimming pool is very nice to enjoy after a hike. The place is surrounded by nature and quiet, and at a walking distance from the best restaurant (Kenoli) and from the best spa (Serendip), and also at 20 min walk from the entrance of the fortress of Sigirya. You can get free bottled water anytime. The place is safe as there is always someone at the entrance. The owners are also very kind, this place is full of good energies and very peaceful. This 5-star hotel offers room service, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. The accommodation offers evening entertainment and luggage storage space. We loved our stay here. The grounds were beautiful, our room was incredibly clean with a gorgeous balcony looking across the mango orchard, and the pool was absolutely lovely. The hotel is designed so that it’s very open to the outside, so you feel like you’re in the middle of nature. We loved the decorative touches, like the wall of masks and the display of colourful bangles behind the reception desk. The whole concept of the hotel, as a women-led enterprise, is unique. This was our first hotel in Sri Lanka and it was only later that we realised how unusual it is to have so many women in these roles. It gives the hotel a calming atmosphere as all of the staff were so kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived (and lit the ceremonial peacock oil lamp!). I didn’t try the spa but my mum booked a treatment and, although a bit pricey, she loved it. The buffet breakfast was delicious, with a lot of vegan and vegetarian choices, although the dinner menu was a bit limited for vegans. We stayed two nights and wished we’d booked another, as we were so comfortable here.
