What a lovely surprise! From the moment we walked in - a very warm reception and great surrounding. Rooms spacious, comfortable and very clean. Dinner was another surprise - delicately prepared soup, biryanis and curries. Worth the wait as everything is prepared from scratch. Excellent location as Habarana gave us the opportunity to explore Central Province to the full. Combine all this with exquisite staff and the formula is complete. Well done guys, you deserve these 5 stars!

I’ve stayed at Oleena Homestay before and loved it, so I’m back again. I like the serenity of the place set among trees and plants and bird songs. And the hosts, Jeewa and Masha are wonderful people with their lovely daughter Oleena. The breakfast were sumptuous and they are able to arrange savoury lunch and dinner 😋. Masha is a great cook. 😍 The garden rooms come with your own private balcony. One may have the food at the balcony or at the nice airy dining hut. Jeewa was able to arrange trips around the area. Excellent hospitality. 😊

The house is in the misdle of the jungles, amazing area and the host is very nice. The host took me from the railway station, to the Pidurangala rock and back, arranged a maasage and a safari for me. Highly reccomend!

This is my 2nd time here. I like the many large glass windows that offer view of the trees, branches and leaves. It gives a feeling of living in the tree and a sense of peace with the birds tweeting and the occasional chipmunk scampering by. The chef is a good cook and whipped up excellent dishes nicely presented and served by the waiters. Sandun cleans the room well. The bed is comfortable. The whole premises is well-kept. As ususal, the host, Mr. Ajith, was welcoming. The manager Samee was always concerned and asking about the welfare of the guests.

I stayed at Woodland Sanctuary during my recent trip to the Cultural Triangle, and it was truly one of the most peaceful and rejuvenating experiences I’ve had in Sri Lanka. Nestled in the heart of nature, the hotel offers a tranquil escape surrounded by lush greenery and birdsong. The rooms are beautifully designed with a natural wooden theme, giving a cozy yet modern feel. Everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. What really stood out was the hospitality — the owners were incredibly warm and helpful, making sure every detail was taken care of. I also had the chance to join a traditional Sri Lankan cooking session hosted by the owner’s mother — such a memorable and delicious experience! Location-wise, it’s perfect. It’s close to Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave Temple, and the safari parks, but tucked away enough to feel like a proper retreat. Highly recommend this place for couples, families, or even solo travelers looking to relax and reconnect with nature

I had a fantastic stay at Sun Shade Resort & Spa, Habarana! The resort is absolutely beautiful, nestled in a serene natural setting that made it the perfect escape. The entire property was spotless and well-maintained, and the pricing was very reasonable for such an incredible experience. The pool was one of my favorite features – it was clean, refreshing, and a great spot to unwind. The staff and management were exceptional, always welcoming and attentive to every detail. I also loved spending time on the grounds playing badminton, which added a fun and active element to my stay. I can’t wait to visit again soon!

Wonderful welcome in the evening- hot towels and juice after a long journey. Beautiful settings and great horizon pool; good sized accommodation and indoor/ outdoor shower was unexpected addition. The staff were very accommodating and even booked us our safari jeep and the most amazing guide Amal who was fantastic. Close to all the main safari parks.
