The room had a great ocean view, you could watch the sun setting by the beach. The room was very spacious for our family of 5. Separate bathroom and toilet was very convenient. The hot spring was awesome, very big with 2 levels. Free ice cream after a hot bath was very enjoyable. The buffet breakfast and dinner was very good, food was great & had lots of variety to choose from.

The apartment is great, well equipped and the communication with the owner was easy. Spotless clean, free parking and easy access to the area. The only downside was that we didn't spend more time there.

The breakfast was great with a good variation of japanese and western style food. They even served local food like "umeboshi" in different flavors to try.
Spa area (onsen) was great as well!
The hotel was close to a local beach.
The ocean view was also nice.

While Matsuya has basic amenities and facilities, the good thing about it is that guests are allowed to use the onsen at its sister hotel, Midoriya which is just a 3-4min walk away. The Midoriya has pretty decent facilities from massage chairs to a bigger onsen, outdoor bathing area, laundry room etc. The view from the room was pretty decent and the futon beds were comfortable but there is not much floor space for large luggage. It should be ok if you're hiking and making this a pit stop.

The Dinner and Buffet Breakfast were excellent. The food was fresh and well presented. If you like fish like I do, you will enjoy your stay. If you have tattoos it is best to discuss what time is best to visit the onsen with the front desk before bathing.

Exceptional view, fantastic breakfast and extremely friendly staff despite our very low level Japanese.
Rooms appear to have been renovated since some of the pictures posted - very modern yet beautiful, spacious, and comfortable.

Comfortable, clean, friendly, very little English spoken but online translation sorted out the needful. Very friendly staff and a good breakfast. Not far from a railway station.
The very best thing was the included voucher for a very good onsen with four pools and two saunas. Lovely.

The vistas were amazing, as was the personal hot tub on our deck direct from the local hot springs!
The staff were fantastic! The breakfast buffet offered so many options and was delicious!
There were lots of little things to do in the area every day.
