Host: Very friendly and straightforward communication with the owner Gregory. He sent plenty of helpful instructions and advice before my arrival. Even the jacuzzi was preheated and ready to use. Check-in was very smooth, keys are located in a lock box. Very handy for me as I arrived rather late at night. Apartment: my expectations were by far exceeded. The apartment is very well kept and equipped with all you need for a short stay (and even for a couple of days I imagine). All appliances and kitchenware seem pretty new, of good quality and in perfect working order. There is underfloor heating. The cleanliness of the place is extraordinary, in fact this is by far one of the most spotless accommodations I have been to so far (being rather demanding in that regard). Even those nooks and crannies that are often overlooked were cleaned to perfection: inside the microwave, on top of the rainforest showerhead, windowsills, and even the cutlery and tableware were spotless. This is the first accommodation I have come across that didn't make me feel the need for washing the dishes before using them for the first time. The mattress was very comfortable for my liking, a bit on the hard side which I prefer. All doors (including the patio sliding doors) are closing smoothly with no creaking or scratching. The garden is nicely decorated and I can only recommend the jacuzzi... Gregory had kindly prepared it prior to my arrival so I could use it first thing after check-in. Other: Ingredients for a generous and varied breakfast are provided, which is a nice gesture. The place is nicely decorated without feeling overloaded. Plenty of toilet tissue is provided as well. Private parking inside the garden gates. Location: nicely tucked away in a small village in the outskirts of Cambrai. Very quiet and well-kept surroundings. I arrived to late to grab some dinner locally, McDonald's in Cambrai was the only place still open. Not a problem at all, as it is a mere 5-10min drive.
