At Hilltop House Resort guests are welcome to take advantage of a spa centre. You can play billiards and table tennis at the accommodation, and the area is popular for hiking and cycling. The hotel is in an excellent location, just about a 10-minute walk to the park entrance, which made our trip very easy. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly – they not only arranged all our park tickets but also took the time to give us clear instructions and useful tips for visiting Zhangjiajie. Breakfast was quite good, and we also enjoyed dinner at their restaurant, which is definitely worth trying. A nice bonus was the free self-service laundry room, which came in very handy during our stay.

When we arrived, Steven helped us to plan our activities in Zhangjiajie, which is great, as you have a true local giving you the information of what is worth to see, and how long it takes to see it. This is something we haven't experienced anywhere before, and it really made our trip feel very personalized, and well planned. He also suggested some restaurants for us to try, and we would never have found them by ourselves. The food there was delicious! Everything in the city is close to the hotel, and accessible with DiDi, so you are never far away from anything, and if you have any problems with DiDi, Steven can help with booking them for your trips to the attractions. The breakfast dumplings and meat pancakes were also delicious. The atmosphere and the overall feel of the hotel is very friendly and homey, and it is not as official and soulless as the big hotel chains. All in all, I would say that we will never forget the experience we had in Zhangjiajie, not only because of the gorgeous scenery, but also because of our amazing host Steven and this hotel.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and Mr Jack Ma is very kind and helpful for any customer need. Next time I will be in Changsha I will definitively come back

柏曼Borrman国际酒店 ZhangJiaJie National Forest Park East Gate Branch offers a buffet or American breakfast. Review by a food enjoyer - The Borrman is located at a prime location just a few minutes walking distance from the eastern gate of ZJJ National Forest Park. Located next to the eastern gate is a KFC, Chagee, and Modern China Tea Shop. Eastern gate pretty much got you covered on the fried chicken and bubble tea front. It is also located right next to 2 of Dianping’s must eats in the area so if you want some local fare and are keen on saving time, this is a pretty ideal location. We booked The Borrman based on location and also reviews we read about the man of the hour - Scott. We connected to Scott through WhatsApp about three months before our trip to ZJJ. He agreed to help purchase tickets for us and told us he would run us through an itinerary when we got there. He also agreed to get us a ride from the railway to the hotel for 100 yuan, an offer I completely forgot about agreeing to until the day before. Thank god for Scott. I didn’t end up taking his offer but it was nice that he remembered. We arrived at the hotel at about 4:20pm in December. That’s less than 2 hours left of sunlight. Scott sat us down and took out a tour map, along with multiple colored markers (if you couldn’t tell, Scott is very organized) and traced out 2 routes for us to take during our stay at ZJJ. He then proceeded to send me the instructions in written form on WhatsApp. He also ordered our tickets for us so we didn’t have to spend 20 minutes staring at ticket prices and wondering what to get. We booked it out of the hotel and managed to see Tianzishan due to his instructions despite only about an hour of sunlight left in the day. We got a nice sunset view and some good pictures. For how late we got there, I’m glad we had Scott walk us through that itinerary. Definitely would have missed it otherwise. We ate at this restaurant across the street with incredible chicken soup. 10/10 you should eat there. Next day, we had breakfast in the lounge.

Avatar Valley Grand Hotel-Tourist Service-GYM-Butler Service offers a buffet or Asian breakfast. Bloody brilliant hotel! The location is spot on - easy access to both national parks without the hassle. Our room was massive and clean as a whistle, with a balcony that opened right onto proper mountain views. Felt like we were camping in the clouds but with all the comforts! What really made it was the top-notch service. Cheers to Wendy and the team for being absolute legends - they sorted our airport pickup, park tickets and even gave us some fair dinkum local tips. No stress at all! Breakfast had a solid spread with both hot tucker and healthy options, and the pool was bonza after a long day hiking. If you're an Aussie heading to Zhangjiajie, this is the place to stay - great value, heaps of space and good vibes all round. Will be telling the mates back home about this one!

Absolutely brilliant stay! The FengHuang Kasen Waterloom Keep's grounds are lovely and breakfast was fantastic. The real standout was their service: arranged a hotel car to collect us from the station and provided dedicated transfers to the local sights. Staff called right after booking to organise our travel and even helped plan our itinerary - extremely professional and helpful. Proper job, highly recommend!

At Sanctum Peaks guests are welcome to take advantage of a sauna. Guests at the accommodation will be able to enjoy activities in and around Zhangjiajie, like hiking, fishing and cycling. Beautifully renovated resort deep in the countryside. Staff were extremely tentative and it felt like guest had a personal concierge. When I sprained my ankle, they even gave me ointment to reduce the swelling. The hotel helped us with booking attractions tickets, advised least crowded routes, arranged for taxi services and were very kind at all times. They organised local activities like pounding mochi and food was abundant and delicious! Room was clean and comfortable.
