The host was super nice. They booked our trips and were always available via WhatsApp. We happened to be there during the Ha Nguyen Festival and they invited us to dinner. The discounted massages were a nice bonus.

My stay was one of the best in Vietnam. The room was superb with high ceilings and hot water. Drinking water was in good supply. The owner, Mr Dat always checked on us to make sure we were well taken care of. Since we were not eating pork only Halal he organised our food to be strictly halal for the entire duration we were booked. The cost of the meals was also very affordable. He also organised for a taxi to paradise Cave and back. This saved me a million vnd plus if I had taken a tour.

The family are so lovely and so helpful. We arrived early in the morning and because it was raining his father came to pick us up.

Excellent, spacious room, as you can see in the pictures. Unfortunately, there is no picture of the view from the balcony, facing the mountains: magnificent. There is an elevator. Almost everything essential: the departure point for the boats to the Phong Nha cave (you don't need an organized tour here, you buy the ticket and that's it, they will take you there), shops and two excellent restaurants, just opposite: in Bamboo they serve both Western and Vietnamese food, these are a little it's being modified, but it's excellent, on the other hand, I recommend trying the beef Pho (soup) made in the local style at the local restaurant to the left of it. Its seasoning is special. The only problem with Phong Nha is if you come to Dong Hoi by train or bus: the taxi drivers are real mountain robbers. Try to choose a bus that takes you directly to Phong Nha.

Great option to stay in Phong Nha, as most options in town are hostels. Great view of the lake, great food and drinks as well. The hotel also has a spa, which was super convenient especially after 2 long days of trekking. You need to take a taxi to go to town, but the town is quite small and not much going on, so it was nice to stay in this much more quiet area. You can kayak and swim in the lake, which we didn't do as we were too tired, but it looked nice.

We were there during Tet, and had the place to ourselves until the last day, when many Vietnamese families arrived to celebrate Tet together. The staff were amazing, ensuring we had everything we needed, and one staff member even gave us a special Bánh Tét (glutinous rice cake with pork belly and mung beans filling, cooked in banana leaf for 24 hours) that his wife had made. The food was lovely, and during our 4-day stay, we were able to sample many of the dishes available. We were in one of the farm cabins, which was roomy, with the most comfortable bed. I had the best nights’ sleeps I had experienced for a long time. The most wonderful thing was the smiles we received every time we came in contact with any of the staff. With many hugs as we checked out, we really did feel as though we arrived as guests and left as family.
