Very comfortable hotel. We had a large room on the second floor. We slept well - beds and pillows very good. No noise at all from the road or other guests. Excellent choice at breakfast - hot and cold buffet-lovely breakfast area leading to a garden. The position is perfect for walking everywhere - near the funicular to avoid all the steps down/up to Ribeira/Douro area. We loved Porto.

The view from the patio, the loft and two toilets, the shower was hot and amazing. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was amazing and the the breakfast staff were so friendly. The location was so convenient, umbrellas available on rainy days, everything was wonderful, we will return.

I’ve been visiting Porto since 2018 because the city and its people completely captured my heart — sometimes I even come twice a year. At Torel Avantgarde, it no longer just feels like coming home; from the moment you step into the lobby, you’re welcomed with genuine warmth and care right up until the day you leave. The service is exceptional, the facilities are excellent, and the staff’s friendliness and sincerity are truly outstanding. No request is ever too much, and you’re always helped with a smile. There’s a sauna, steam room, and swimming pool available without reservation, and every time I’ve used them, I’ve had the space entirely to myself. The morning gym facilities are also great before heading into the city. Another big plus is the location — just a comfortable 10-minute walk from the center. The rooms are all designed around an artist concept, so no two are alike. After staying here for several years, I still find myself pleasantly surprised each time. The balconies overlooking the Douro are phenomenal. The breakfast, bar, and dinner options are all excellent as well. I keep returning year after year because this place makes every stay in Porto even more special. I even celebrated a milestone birthday here this year — with a bottle of champagne and a lovely card waiting in my room, and another surprise at breakfast the next morning. In short, it’s a truly exceptional hotel in every way. A strong recommendation, and I will definitely keep coming back. Overwhelming — in the best possible sense.

Beautiful, spotless apartment with lots of space for the 3 of us. Location suited us.. not too far to walk from all the sights but far enough away to chill out from the hustle. We arrived late but had clear/easy instructions from the ultra friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

All the staff were exceptionally helpful especially Piedro who checked us in and made reservations for us the first night and Daniela who checked us out. The balcony in our bedroom, lighting in the bedroom, the comfy bed, the breakfast, pools on the roof and the spa area and service were all exceptional. We had a great stay in a beautiful city.
