Monte Carvalhal da Rocha has a beautiful location with breathtaking views. We enjoyed walking around. There is a small zoo as well. Our stay was pleasant also because of the receptionist Ricardo. What a professional hotelier and wonderful person! Ricardo is full of kindness and humor. He provided an excellent service to us! He was always there for us, all of our needs were met immediately. Ricardo gave us also helpful tips on the area around as we don't speak Portuguese. We would like to thank Ricardo once again for his great service! We will definitely recommend Monte Carvalhal da Rocha to our friends.

The owners, Berny and Glenn, did indeed create a small paradise! All details sum up to a holistic picture of a holiday retreat which couldn’t be better. Large rooms with very tasteful and individual interiors (we enjoyed a tour through all rooms), outside facilities with large pool and breathtaking view from top of a hill into the Alentejo, excellent breakfast (as well as dinner in case you wish to spend the whole day at the retreat), nice common rooms, and much more. And last not least, Berny and Glenn themselves - you can’t find hosts being more gentle and hearty, helping you with all kinds of recommendations, and being there for interesting chats! We will come again for sure!

It was the best hotel experience I have ever had! The room was modern and stylish, our windows looked at the farm, and we could see the donkeys from our place. The hotel exceeded our expectations: we had a more comfortable room than we ordered and a lavish bath! The hotel is dog friendly: dogs can come to the main building, walk the whole territory, lay over the tables during breakfast, and so on. It was amazing! The hotel owner (Pedro) invited us to have a dinner cooked by an ex-Michelin chef, and it was the best dinner I had had in Portugal! It was delicious! I'm more than 100% sure that we will come to this place many times in the future

The welcoming was wholeheartedly: - staf was very friendly - astonishing housing, property & surrounding - bonus for the cute and well-looked after animals, especially the dog Pétaka. We went in the low season, 5-6 october, and due to the calmness in the resort we were allowed to stay a bit longer than the 11:30 check-out time which was lovely. I would certainly recommend a visit.
