I recently had the pleasure of staying at Quinta de Casa Amarela in the Douro Valley, Portugal, and it was an absolute delight. The accommodation effortlessly blends old-world charm with modern comforts, making for a truly memorable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. My partner and I were lucky to have the entire hotel and spa for ourselves before a big holiday weekend. The staff is so lovely and made us feel so welcome at at home. The spa was cozy with a sauna, hot jacuzzi and turkish bath, and the staff even filled the entire spa with candles for us. The outdoor pool was cold and perfect for cold dips in the rain (strongly recommend this!). After the spa we had a 3-course dinner with delicious homemade dishes and local wine. The restaurant is like a restaurant / living room with a little bar, pool table, fire place, sofas etc. The facilities were great, we really loved this. Our room was beautiful and with a balcony facing the greenery outside, and you could even hear the stream. To finish off our stay we got an amazing big breakfast, just for the two of us! We really got a 5* treatment here. Loved the location near to Lamego, and yet in a calm place on the countryside. Thank you so much, we will be back!

The service has been consistent over the years, the team really does love their work and their job, you can tell from the passion and warmth they serve. Louis - one of the OG sommeliers/manager and his colleague were fantastic - trying to recreate the best steak I've had at their property over 3 years ago. We say that time changes everyone, but I'm so glad to see that Six Senses remains exceptionally well run ~ please don't ever change that part! Also had a really enjoyable and dare I say life altering Osteopath Massage session - learnt a lot from my body and Lorenzo really did make my spine feel looser. Thank you!

Hotel staff, including restaurant staff were extremely nice and friendly and helpful in all aspects. Quality of spacey rooms with terraces with great view was amazing.

Breakfast was generous and tasty. Location was in the country, which is what we were looking for. Services (like laundromat, pharmacy, etc.) were in a town about 15 minutes away. Very quiet. Beautiful pool outside and very warm pool inside, as well as a sauna. We were greeted personally by the owner when we arrived, who insisted on taking our bags to our room. All the staff spoke very good English and were friendly and helpful.
