After staying at many small Sri Lankan independent hotel / guest houses, from the very north to the south this is undoubtedly the best. One of 2 reviews from me as most other being average: This place is perfectly run, perfectly maintained, great pool and great breakfasts! The evening restaurant offers a mix of Italian and Sri Lankan dishes and after a few weeks traveling nothing beats a homemade Lasagna with a glass of Red! The Beach at 2 mins away is also nr perfect. Even with the rough seas experienced on this coast there is a northern corner that is calm enough to enjoy a good swim. Well done team and Gaby, you run a great establishment. I hope to return with many friends. T

We loved this beautiful peaceful hotel. Set on huge well looked after grounds on a quiet beach, we could not have found a more relaxing place to spend a few days. The open room was gorgeous and we loved the birding even from the shower! The hotel food was great but do yourself a favour and also try Funny Banana just a few steps away on the beach.

The view from pool was marvelous and love the first sight of the room. Beach we didn't get the opportunity to view the Beach.

With garden views, Serene Villa Hiriketiya is situated in Hiriketiya and has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk. There is a private entrance at the aparthotel for the convenience of those who stay....

We stayed at Serene Villa for four nights and can not recommend it enough. It is so well kept and the staff was very helpful and nice. The hotel is up a small hill, five minutes from Hiriketiya Beach. Dickwella Beach is approximately a ten minute walk. I had hurt my foot so I had to go by tuk-tuk and twice the hotel staff drove me to the beach for free. The room was lovely and spacious. The pool area is in a shady area which makes it perfect for a morning or afternoon swim. They also arrange yoga in the rooftop which I had gladly participated in if it hd not been for my foot. The breakfast was great with all the basic stuff you would expect plus some extra features that varied from day to day. We would have loved to stay longer!

Deep Blue is a private villa offering rooms with boutique style décor in Matara, 500 metres from Polhena beach. It has a private beach area and an outdoor swimming pool.

the resort was beautiful! the pool relaxing and clean. the staff absolutely wonderfull. the food was AMAZING! they helped us with laundry and everything we needed. the BEST!

An amazing homestay, very close to Hiriketiya beach. The family was so lovely, they couldn’t do enough for us and helped us with future travel. The place is spotless clean too.

Immaculately clean and comfortable large rooms with great bathroom facilities. Perfect location to walk straight out the door to many great food options and beautiful Hiriketiya beach. The outdoor shower was a great addition for a wash off when returning from an early morning surf. Having the two upstairs rooms was great for our family with two teenagers. We appreciated being able to leave our bags for a few hours before we departed for our next location after check out.
