I had a wonderful stay at Sea Turtles Bungalow in Iduruwa. The property has a beautiful colonial-style charm with very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The air conditioning worked perfectly, making the stay very comfortable. They also have a really good spa which was very relaxing. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety of options, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location is excellent, just a short walk to Iduruwa Beach. Highly recommended for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway

Our stay at Ahu Bay was nothing short of exceptional. The property itself is breathtaking, set between two bays with panoramic ocean views that create the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The seafood, in particular, was outstanding — fresh, carefully prepared, and always cooked to perfection. The menu offers a thoughtful mix of local flavours and international favourites, each dish presented with genuine care and creativity. Every meal felt memorable. What truly sets Ahu Bay apart, however, is the quality of its staff. From the front desk to the restaurant and beyond, every member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay feel special. Their professionalism and hospitality elevated the experience far beyond expectation. I have to commend the in- house dinning staff ,that arranged for a warm glass of milk each evening and each morning ( 5.30am ) to be delivered to our room for our 17 month old grandson . They were always obliging when we called them - regarding the kids meals and all other services

I'm really demanding person but I was fascinated about this place! Let's Start with location. It's situated about 10 minuts by foot from Aluthgama railway station. It's very convenient when you trevel by train like we. You shouldn't worry about noise because this hotel is on a quiet street near the river. For people who is really in nightlife there are no bars, cafes and parties around this place. Instead of this you can enjoy amazing sunsets and try water activities on the river or fly on a glider over the beach. The hotel is separated from the beach by a river so they give you a free ride to the beach by boat. The beach is sandy, wide and almost deserted. There are no cafes but I saw several sunbeds so probably it could be rented. The coast is quite flat and the ocean depth is shallow, so the place is suitable for children Guest house is pretty small (about 5-6 rooms) and doesn't have a garden where people can walk but we didn't suffer about it. Amazing and welcoming family run it. They helped us with all questions but were not intrusive. We took a river safari excursion from them and did not regret it. We saw monitor lizards, endemic monkeys, small crocodiles, bats and birds. All the time we ate only in this hotel. They provide very tasty and filling breakfasts. We were served scrambled eggs in different forms (scramble, omelet, etc.), yogurt, fruit, toast, butter and jam, juice, tea or coffee. Besides they have a wide selection of dishes in menu including grilld meet( chiken, beef, porc), sea food, noodles, rice etc. All was available and has affordable price. We stayed in family room on the first floor. It is spacious, bright, extremely clean and fully matches with photo and description. Definitely recommend this hotel and say a huge thank you to this family!

It’s hard to list what we liked as we enjoyed the place very much. So in short -location next to the great beach hidden in a forest -small hotel, only 4 bungalows -beds very comfortable -very nice restaurant with possibilities to eat on the beach -all meals just great, menu changes every day You can keep on listing, though I would say the biggest value of this place is it’s owner Barbara who keeps close eye on everything in the hotel, keeping all in order and is very helpful in assisting and negotiating decent prices for transportation, tours and even tuk tuks… knowledge of local market can’t be overrated in this area…

So far the best accommodation we have had in Sri Lanka. Incredibly nice hosts, willing to help you with anything. They even did our laundry. No noise can be heard from outside, the bed is equipped with mosquito nets, which we greatly appreciated. In addition, it looks beautiful and the mattress is comfortable. The room is equipped with air conditioning. The equipment of the villa is new and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast was rich, we received several salty and sweet dishes, as well as fruit, tea and fruit juice. We would definitely like to come back again and warmly recommend this accommodation.
