Beautiful property, in the middle of nature and the tea plantation. The room was super large, with ceiling fan and mosquito net. Terence and the rest of the staff were really the highlight of our stay. They took such good care of us and treated us with such kindness, bringing us tea and fresh juices throughout the day. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there for two days (always different), and this was really the best food we had in Sri Lanka. We could also fill up our water bottles at all time, which was very appreciated. Magnificent furniture, all from the colonial times, though it could be a bit cleaner (cushions and fabrics of the different sofas). The swimming pool was the perfect addition, after walking around in the hot weather. Finally, our visit to the tea factory was very interesting: we learnt a lot and were so happy to be able to buy their tea at the end, for a very decent price.

Stayed 1 night at this magical place and wish we had more time to enjoy this amazing property. We really wanted to fit in a round of golf before leaving Sri Lanka and were very lucky to have spent the night at Bougainvillea Retreat, who very kindly offered us a late checkout as we were flying out in the middle of the night, which meant we had time for 18 holes on our last day, we loved absolutely everything, the food was spectacular. Chef met us on arrival and discussed food preferences and so tailored the menu to our liking. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both served on the terrace with magnificent views of the mountains and reservoir. Our room was comfortable, well appointed, spacious and again with stunning views of the surroundings Service was welcoming, warm, above and beyond, even with so little time, our laundry was washed, and ironed in 24 hours. The property and grounds are well kept and probably the cleanest we have experienced on our trip! Our only regret is that we had so little time here. We hope to visit again. Thank you to the staff and of course every precious pet too for a thoroughly (albeit short) enjoyable stay

Stayed 1 night at this magical place and wish we had more time to enjoy this amazing property. The Albatross is a stunning property with beautiful, unobstructed views overlooking Victoria Dam. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The food was superb, we enjoyed authentic Sri Lankan dishes for dinner and lighter sandwiches and omelettes for breakfast and lunch - both were 10/10! The chef catered to my vegetarian diet which was highly appreciated. The hosts at the hotel were so kind and accommodating. We felt really well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
