Everything. You could’ve eaten off the floor it was that clean. The host is a beautiful lady. And she cooks a traditional breakfast which is included in the cost. The property is right near Blue Beach. And a 10 minute walk to Hiriketiya Beach.

Beautiful brand new rooms / modern, very spacious!! Great aircon, and fan and balcony. Staff were truely the highlight of this stay. They organised a bike to rent, the safari trio Yala and someone to take us to Ella. We loved that driver so much we used him for the rest of our trip! We also struggled to find a currency exchange in Sri Lanka, but they organised someone to come the hotel and rate was unbeatable. Anything we asked, they were SO happy to help and did it so quickly. They were so friendly and welcomed us so warmly every time we passed them coming in and out of the resort. Probably my fave place we stay because of the people who run it xx OH and Dickwella beach is right at the end of the drive way and beats Hiriketiya beach by a mile. So much better and much quieter to spend the day.

Absolutely a 10/10 experience every time! I’ve stayed here three times now, and each visit has been better than the last. The place itself is cozy, impeccably clean, and has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere—it truly feels like a home away from home. But the real highlight is the host! Not only are they incredibly attentive and accommodating, but they also happen to be an amazing chef who genuinely loves cooking. They offer to cook meals for guests, and trust me, you do not want to pass up the chance! This is hands down one of the best stays I’ve ever experienced. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable and unique getaway!

Great homestay, everything was really clean and the rooms are spacious. No hot water but that’s normal for the area. The owner was lovely!

Ocean Gateway Dickwella was our second destination in Sri-Lanka after Kosgoda in the west. Located not far from the main Dickwella beach (which we didn’t like, by the way) in Bathigama Bay, it is a real gem of Sri-Lankan shore. A stunning property right on the beach with a hypnotizing view on the Mighty Ocean. A really nice and quiet place for introverts and those who don’t like crowds and loud music. We stayed in a room for 4 persons without direct view to the ocean, but it’s not really needed. You can walk out of the room and sit in a comfortable chair watching the beauty. The room is nice, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is big and there was always hot (with strong pressure!) water in the shower. It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room, though, but not critical. A kettle, hair dryer and socket adaptors were provided by the owner upon the arrival. The host, Mahesh, is the most wonderful person! He is Mr. Cook, Mr. Manager and Mr. Pleasant Companion in one face! Although I ended up not liking Sri-Lankan cuisine too much, the Devilled chicken and fried bananas were wonderful! 150 meters from the hotel is the Turtle Beach where we spent a lot of time snorkeling. There are also a couple of café’s on the beach near-by and a small food store just across the street from the hotel. Thank you for the wonderful time we spent at Ocean Gateway Dickwella!

The owners are really nice people who live right next to the house and are always ready to help. We were welcomed with a delicious king coconut :) The room was fully equipped with everything we needed. The location is probably one of the best you can get in Hiriketiya: less than a minute walk to the beach and surf and also close to restaurants (you might want to bring earplugs because sometimes you can hear music from the bars. I am a light sleeper myself and wore mine and had no problems). If you are looking for a comfortable accommodation for a reasonable price I can highly recommend breath house!

Awesome, my favourite place! It’s the best hostel I ever been in my life. Luxury style. The pool and surroundings are amazing. Easy to get to the beaches.

Where to start... My partner and I spent five nights at this hotel with this lovely family. The accommodation is extremely well located. A stone's throw from the main street, restaurants, the beach and the Hiriketiya surf spot. We could stop there and it would already be worth it. The room is not a 5-star one, but you go there knowing that. In terms of price, I don't think you'll find better anywhere else. For our part, the room was clean and functional, no complaints there. The included breakfast was delicious and always well served, a great way to start the day. We did our laundry on site and once again, it came back spotless. The street isn't always the quietest, we had a few dogs barking, but as everywhere in Sri Lanka, unfortunately there's not much you can do about that. But we really fell in love with the family, who were exceptionally kind and helpful. During those five days, we felt right at home. Thank you for your smiles and kindness, which touched us deeply and made this part of our trip even more beautiful (aside from the little paradise that is Hiriketiya). We can't wait to come back. See you soon!
