This three days have been perfect! The whole team is so friendly, kind, helpful and they like to have a chat with you, if you want to. the kitchen did a fantastic job! the breakfast and also the dinner was amazing! one morning, in front of our hotel, there were fishermans fishing. We bought a fish from them and the chef cooked it on the evening for us. Great experience! the hotel, room, pool and beach is very nice. great to spend time there.

Kumu Beach is one of the best hotels we stayed in! The place itself is calm and relaxing, only ten rooms within a private atmosphere. Our rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. The entire hotel provides such a beautiful interior with lots of love for details. Also outside, the pool area and lawn around, is so nicely arranged and the view is simply great. The service staff is brilliant, honestly interested in the wishes of the customers and provides the maximum of service that you can experience. Also the cleaning, SPA or gardening/outdoor staff is over-the-top friendly and hardworking. The food is exceptional. A variety of tasty Sri Lankan and non-Sri Lankan food is offered. Our stay way amazing, a true paradise. We will miss the peace and quiet here and are looking forward to book again soon!

The seafood, in particular, was outstanding — fresh, carefully prepared, and always cooked to perfection. It’s hard to list what we liked as we enjoyed the place very much. So in short -location next to the great beach hidden in a forest -small hotel, only 4 bungalows -beds very comfortable -very nice restaurant with possibilities to eat on the beach -all meals just great, menu changes every day You can keep on listing, though I would say the biggest value of this place is it’s owner Barbara who keeps close eye on everything in the hotel, keeping all in order and is very helpful in assisting and negotiating decent prices for transportation, tours and even tuk tuks… knowledge of local market can’t be overrated in this area…

This was a surprisingly good stay! As a small boutique hotel the staff were warm, attentive and welcoming. Check in was super easy and we were in our room within minutes. The room was newly furnishes with modern décor, large with good facilities. The large sliding doors opened onto a patio with a table and chairs and then walk out with access to the pool and beach areas. The pool was pleasant, the access to the beach is great with a private grassed area which you can relax on and then wonder on the public beach at your leisure. The beach was not at all busy and actually quite nice, although the sea was a little rough for leisurely swimming. The kitchen staff were accommodating, the food was excellent.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with all the essentials I needed—comfortable bed, fresh linens, and good air conditioning. We had a wonderful stay at the Sundara - not only the property is beautiful and well cared for but also the staff did an exceptional job in making us feel welcome and at home. Prasad helps with bookings of massages or tours, Hassan and his colleagues don’t leave any gastronomical wishes open. Everyone is friendly and caring. We enjoyed swimming in the nice pool, the spacious rooms, the delicious food & drinks and the direct beach access. We swam in the ocean, but check the tides before as waves can be quite high.

Wow, such a pearl! Nice people, pleasant service, beautiful scenery, a perfect place to relax. The rooms were spacious, the atmosphere were intimate and we felt very safe.
