The hotel is a short walk from the JR train station and the bus station. The staff was very helpful and patient at all times. Our room was clean and comfortable. Amenities were available and much appreciated. The onsen on the 9th floor was great and also free. The dinner we had there one evening was delicious. Coffee and tea are always available in the lobby. We would come again.

Amazing rooms for the price. Couldnt believe my eyes when I entered our hotel room. The free spa section at the second floor was a really nice surprise. Location for the hotel is perfect. Literally two minutes to the 1200 year old ginkgo tree and 5 minutes to Takayama restaurant & bar district. 10 minutes to old town. Excellent laundry service 2 minutes from the hotel.

Did a right choice to choose this hotel as the location is within walkable distance to the main attractions, JR train station and bus station. The family enjoyed the most is the private onsen which allowed us to relax after a day of sightseeing. A big thank to the staff who allowed us for early entry to the breakfast knowing that rushing to check-out to catch the bus. Highly recommended and would choose to stay in this hotel when visiting Takayama again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Everything was great, the food was good, the view breath-taking, the rooms spacious and the hotel had a lovely retro vibe to it. The Onsen were incredible.

Featuring beautiful sceneries of the woods, Ryu Resort and Spa is located in the tranquil Shokawa Highland area, a 50-minute drive or free shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station (reservation needed).
