This was the best stay we had during our trip. The location and experience we had were exceptional. The hosts are great, provided us with all the information necessary and good restaurant recommendations in Matera. Masseria is located on top of a hill with great views. Our room was big and comfortable. We really enjoyed everything, including breakfast which was rich and tasteful. Hope to be back one day

Incredible stay - perfect balance between a luxury stay in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities, and exceptional experience/immersion which makes it different from all other hotels. You can "dose" it how you like: if you want to use this only as a charming boutique hotel, you can, as the location is incredible, service is excellent (shuttle service to parking lot, adorable staff, delicious breakfast and aperitif, great room, incredible cave thermal pool). If however you want to experience something different and take advantage of the immersive experience (and you are never pushed to do so), it's very well done and gives you a really different "stay" that you will remember.

Everything was a great and different experience.the Il carrubo, is situated in the center of Matera .it is at a short distance from everything you want to see and walk, in this lovely town.When you arrive, it is easy to find the place due to the good and fully detailed directions which we were given.the breakfast was really nice.italian!!Gianni, the one in charge, was very helpful,polite, full of joy, and always there to surve and help the customers and give to us all, information about the city the history ,as well as the things to do in this amazing place, Matera!!!

Alina was the most gracious hostess. Great location with wonderful view of Sasso Barisano. Lovely balcony and roof patio, altbough too windy and cold in May for us to enjoy fully. But we can imagine how lovely it would be to enjoy a glass of wine there in July.

We loved the luxury feel of the hotel and it was an amazing base for a few days to explore Matera. The staff were exceptional, especially Dino and Mary. Breakfast was superb. The spa was stunning. To stay in a cave hotel was really unique and this one was so beautifully designed. Thanks for a great stay.

The spa was amazing and very relaxing after a day walking around the Sassi. The rooms were really unique, spacious, and cool with comfortable beds. We had a very nice jacuzzi bath with coloured lighting and also in the shower. We stayed in the dependence suite but it wasn't onerous to walk the short distance for breakfast which was very nice too.
