Great place to stay at Mount Cook with only a 5 minute drive to the trail head car parks. A bit pricey but worth it as it's for the location which is stunning. The Tasman lake walks , 10 minutes drive away are also fabulous.

Super easy to get to close enough to town if you really wanted to walk (around half a mile to town).
