(capsules) There is a lake nearby. About a 5-minute walk. Quiet neighborhood.

The location is perfect - in the nature, but still close to the city. The hospitality is one of a kind. We were at home. Our kids loved the chickens, the cat, and horses. We really enjoyed the summer evenings, sitting outside and enjoying the view. It's like a Yellowstone experience in Drenthe. We'll come back!

Perfect rural location, beautiful views from lovely lounge, friendly helpful hosts, free parking & shed for bikes, enjoyed having breakfast in garden watching storks on the chimneys

The apartment (as it is a lot more than but a 1 room B&B) looked fantastic on our arrival at 21:00 at night. Beautiful soft and warm lighting made it feel very welcoming. We were very impressed with the attention to detail that this couple put into their property. They have put a lot of love and care into getting every detail perfect. A Very comfortable bed where we both slept very well was followed by an AMAZING breakfast !!! Far more than we could eat... We were there in winter so we could not really use the private patio in the garden but I can imagine that having breakfast out there would be a beautiful and VERY memorable experience. I look forward to booking again as this little diamond would make an ideal base of operations from which to explore the northern area of the Netherlands.

Guests at the apartment can make the most of yoga classes offered on-site. De karkoele features a barbecue and a garden. Extremely well equipped, with attention to the tiniest details (fresh set of earplugs? check. good toiletries? check. full deck of spices for those cooking? check!). Lovely, high quality furnishing - not ikea :-) Friendly host -- the owner offered to drive us to Sleen (Erm is a tiny bit of a detour when you are walking the Pieterpad). Truly exceeding all expectations.
