I visited Rapa Nui for two nights in December 2024 and Kitai Cabanas was really the best place to stay and made my short trip wonderful. The hosts are lovely persons and make the guests to feel welcome. Even before arrival communication was great and all questions have been answered quickly. Pick up at the airport was included and drop off at departure as well. The cottage is spacious, clean and a fully eqipped kitchen (which I did not use though, as Kitai Cabanas is next to many good restaurants). Water dispender is in the room, which was convinient. Room, bath and kitchen have been clean and I had a nice terrace with garden view. There are many lovely cats arround. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well. I booked also an island tour with the hosts and Kevin is an excellent guide. Very knowlegable about the history and culture of Rapa Nui.

Excellent accommodation with a little kitchenette just a 15 min walk from the Main Street. Lucy and her husband were very sweet and kind hosts. Organised drinking water, picked us up and dropped off at airport for no charge. Met is with flower garlands and gave us a very thoughtful departure gift. Would recommend to anyone coming to the Island. Very special stay!

It is away from the busy main streets but within walkable distance to all the good restaurants and stores.

Lovely place would of loved to stay longer. Family run place super friendly. They will rent you a car or arrange trips. They picked me up from the airport and dropping me off.

We absolutely loved our time at Maria Hau Cabanas, the room was perfect and in such an amazing location, right by the sea and close to town. Maria’s son greeted us at the airport and made sure we were looked after our whole trip, thank you for such an amazing time. Cannot recommend enough!

Set in Hanga Roa, Cabañas Moai is 200 metres from Hanga Roa Anthropological Museum. Tahai is 500 metres from the property. Free private parking is available on site.

Rene was a fantastic host He both picked us up and returned us to the airport Drove us around Hanga Roa for over half an hour to get National Park passes and get cash at an ATM He arranged for us to rent a car and even was willing to guide us to The Moai although that was not expected

Loved the decorative tree elements, open shower, little kitchen with water bottle and some basic ingredients, like coffee, tea, herbs and oils. Nice verandah with chairs to relax and enjoy the view towards the sea. Was great to rent a car from the friendly owners, and they helped organise tours with a local guide as well as a laundry service. Short drive to town as well as viewing point at Tahai.
