We had a wonderful time at Galetta House. Located in a charming side street close to the attractions of Famagusta, it is a true sanctuary of tranquility with a beautiful garden. There's a lot of privacy. Hassan is an excellent host who always has great recommendations for good restaurants, interesting places, and events. The house, an old house renovated with taste (apparently very recently refreshed as well), is located in a calm quarter of the old town. It has all comfort one can wish for, fully equipped kitchen, small but functional bathroom with shower (plus second separate toilet). We liked the presence of a nice courtyard and additionally a terrace with view of the city, which is reached by the sun for breakfast time. Check in was easy and the host was very nice. We were greeted by some extras in the fridge and on the table, even if we only stayed one night, which is far from evident. Internet worked, parking nearby was easy.

What a wonderful stay at Malia! Super hospitality and welcome from Doga, Nilgun and Senol, family run business. My sister and I stayed at Malia for 8 nights and we couldn't have asked for more. Doga responded promptly to all my emails before we arrived and was there to greet us when we arrived. The accommodation is immaculately clean and we had lots of welcome treats, 2 beers, snacks and plenty of water and one day we even had the pleasure of trying their homemade lemon cake, made with their own lemons!! It was delightful. The bed and bedding is of such high standard, the best nights sleep we have had in a very long time. Staying here is magical, you are in the heart of town, where you can watch the world go by from your balcony, or go to the private rooftop to sunbathe or read or have your breakfast and just take in the view. I am Cypriot and I have visited Famagusta many times but staying here was so special and one of the best stays I have ever had on the island. You feel lucky to be part of the neighbourhood for a while, everyone so warm and friendly and you have the fantastic Malia café downstairs, (Doga makes great coffee and cocktails) and a great shop run by Nilgun. I recommend Malia wholeheartedly and thank our lovely hosts for making this a very memorable and special stay.

What I liked most is the peace and quiet I've finally got after a few almost sleepless nights at previous hostels. The host was very friendly and the apartment is situated in a quiet area and not too far away from the historical centre of Famagusta, so this all mentioned can give you nothing but enough comfort for an amazing price - highly recommendable, I would definitely come back again! 😁
